Denon AVR 2308 ci. No sound when using TV (Niece changed setting

It seems you are not unfamiliar with censorable abbreviations.

RTFM and go through all the settings again.

Your unspecified external devices all have settings, cables and (if digital) the ports on the Denon may need to be assigned.

Hi,
If dvd combo player is only video source connected with Denon AVR 790 then unplug yellow video wire from Denon and plug it directly in TV input, now video signal will go directly to tv and sound will come from Denon AVR 790 speakers during dvd playback.
This is simple bypass that wont effect surround sound of dvd playback.

when using an hdmi input, make sure the "input mode" is in 'hdmi' or 'auto'. i am sure you can remedy your issues with a trip through the setup menu. it very extensive. good luck

is the sub in speaker set A and sub in set B?
that was my problem on Denon DRA-455 with Eltax Linear 6.5

You need to get more details. What component has failed that makes them believe that a surge caused the problem. There is usually a thermal fuse inside of the main power transformer that CAN be effected by power surges. WIthout more details, I really can't rpovide any ammunition for your claim. Please request exact details from the servicer.

Help with hooking PS3 to a Denon Receiver. It worked before, but I had to move everything to a different location and when I hooked it back up the PS3 has sound but no picture. I have it hooked directly to the receiver with and HDMI cable (the receiver is hooked up to our cable box which is directly hooked to the tv via HDMI cable).

Unhook the sub ! center speaker is for front sounds like the people talking. and a sub is for the bass like a bomb going off SO hook your sub to the sub out on your reciever. As far as the vcr..are the vcr inputs on the denon yellow? if so thats a video in (or) out but if its red or white thats for the vcr sound .

With a little more info, I can help you. What is the source you are trying to play through the 2308? Is the problem that you don't have sound out speakers connected to the 2308?
