My V37655 - 56" Vivitek DLP Rear Projection TV is flicking on and off. The srcreen picture will go out, then the sound. When I look at the TV to see whats going on, the indicator lights are flahing. Then minutes layer it come back on and continue to repear this process. What is needed?

Mine does this as well for some reason.
I found that switching the audio mode using the remote gets the sound back. I have no idea what sets it off and why or when it decides to do this, but as soon as I press the "Audio" key on the remote, the sound comes back and I put it back to BBE, because that gives me the best sound.
In my experience, the humming means your color wheel is going. The bearings inside the wheel are probably giving out.
My Vivitek started humming a couple of months ago and first I replaced the lamp.
Still hummed.
I read in other forums that humming is linked to color wheels and that seemed like where the noise was coming from.
I purchased a new wheel online and replaced it myself...
..no more humming, the picture is great and now I can listen to the movie again...not the tv!
