gAMI BIOS Beep Codes
*Computer gives 1 short beep when system boots successfully.
*Except for beep code 8, these codes are always fatal.
1 beep Refresh failure
2 beeps Parity error
3 beeps Base 64K memory failure
4 beeps Timer not operational
5 beeps Processor error
6 beeps 8042 - gate A20 failure
7 beeps Processor exception interrupt error
8 beeps Display memory read/write failure

10 beeps CMOS shutdown register read/write error

Three short beepssugges memory instal failure try installing it properlu so that white or the black tabs locks up automatically if that doesnt work tried checkin ur system with one memory if not get mobo and the memory replaced

seems contagious mine did the same thing!not sure how helpful this will be but the bios handles the starting up part and if it's corrupt then that wont happen.If you can get the bios flash that you need onto a floppy then that might help at the moment I'm waiting for a new bios chip.Did you receive any errors at all ?awdflash.exe? insert disc etc ?

I think there is a problem with the pin connection of the RAM. Remove the RAM again, then clean the pin with the contact cleaner spray then plug in again. do same thing with the CPU/processor if necessary. if you got One short beep when boot windows the problem haven't from hardware but on your system. try to run scandisk, disk cleanup, or press F8 while booting to go into "safe mode". Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back should you need additional information.
