Fuses almost never go bad something causes them to blow. Even when a blown fuse is found in electronics just t replacing it can cause more damage if something caused it to blow, a repair person looks for bad parts before replacing a fuse. Only microwaves are known to blow fuses and replacing the fuse fixes it. About the only thing that people can do is unplug a short time and try it again. And need i say is the power outlet ok.

Need to know if a looped ground would make it where the tuner on my car stereo works fine but the cd player only uses the subs and no other speakers work ? On a 1995 BMW 325i

It sounds to me like you are using more than one amplifier and are using the blue wire (power antenna remote turn on) to turn the amp for the rest of your speakers. The blue wire turns off when leaving tuner mode, thus turning off the amp(s).

I recently installed a sony explode in my truck everything works fine except for when u put a cd in, no sound and the display shows the cd is playing and all the function buttons work i just have no soud...

It sounds like you are using an amplifier. Make sure you are using the blue/white wire to turn the amplifier on. The blue/white wire is amplifier remote turn on and the blue wire is power antenna remote turn on. The blue wire turns off when leaving tuner mode, turning the amplifier off.

When i have the stereo on radio my amp/subs work fine, but as soon as i switch the mode to USB ( built in ipod connector) it cuts out the power to the amp/subs. It only works on tuner mode (radio) why?

use the blue/white wire (amplifier remote turn on) instead of the blue wire (power antenna remote turn on) to turn your amp on. the power antenna wire shuts off when leaving tuner mode.

Sony cdx-200 wont work

I would remove the CD player and chek the connectons inside. Check the power wires (pink and Red/white Dodge colors) to make sure you have power. I know for a fact that the number one cause for Dodges to do this is because while the harness you bought to cnnect to the factory plugs HAS a black wire for ground, there IS NO Oposing wire. It's usually a braided silver wire or a thick black attached to te stock deck. Make sure you are not getting a ground through the antenna.

Let me know what you found out,

Sony Str-DE945 5.1 not Powering Up all !

It's possible there are several bad solder joints on the front panel PC Board which can cause non responding controls, loss of sound. I repaired mine that way. Try turning it on with remote, see if that works.

Honda civic wont start

You might have to change the spark plugs or at least have them cleaned.

No display on my sr875 the next time i turned it on..i have no clue waht happend..it was just working fine yesterday, now, it suddenly shows one issue that needs to be resolve..i did everything i cud do but...

The 10 Ohms resistor R9304 in series with the the 44V display power supply was open.

How to find it:
Remove the to cover.
On the right hand side of the front panel you will see on the side a wide white flat cable going toward the back of the receiver.
Beside it is a 4 black wire band connecting the front panel to a 3x4cm power PCB which is parallel with the front panel inside the receiver (attached to the front frame).
It has visible on the left side a diode bridge and a fuse - above the fuse you can find the R9304, a SFR16 package (1x3.5mm) marked BrownBlackBlack.
Check continuity.Replace if open wit a 1W resistor
Good job ONKYO, save 1/3 of a penny...

For the DIY:
As an added step I replaced the R9304 with a 2W 47R resistor, replaced the series transistor regulator Q9301 (tall TO92) with a bigger package (isolated TO220) and one of the two series 22V zenners from the base - D9310 - with a 10V one.
Output voltage drops from 44V to 34V, display is slightly dimmer but overall stress is down.

Good luck!

Plugged into 220V outlet by mistake! Help!

I don't know for sure, but I suspect that if you open it up, there should be a fuse near the power supply portion of the unit. It may have taken the hit for you and can perhaps be replaced easily. (As a disclaimer... be sure the unit is not plugged in when you open the case! And only replace the fuse with another of equal rating.) If it's not a fuse, then you probably smoked the primary winding of the transformer. If it got past that, you may have popped the rectifier and/or capacitor(s) in the power supply.
