Computer will not charge your phone if the computer is off, may stop charging during standby or sleep mode. If failure to charge over night was on wall charger its a problem with charger/cable. OR your phones battery is junk.
My guess is that the charging port in your phone has gone bad. By holding it a certain way, you may be reconnecting it just enough to make the connection. Probably have a loose or broken wire inside your phones port. You may also see this is a problem if you try to hook it up to a pc.
USB Voltage is always 5V. That is standard. As far as your charger for your V3, different motorola chargers have different ampere or mA, but I wouldn't worry about it, you cannot overpower the Touch, it just may charge slower if the charger for the V3 is a weak one.
Other than that though, if it fits USB, you should definitely be fine.
The RAZR v3 series won't charge from a standard USB connection, you'll have to get a charger that's made for Motorolla phones. I've used a generic car charger with no problem, but I had to buy the one that's compatible with Motorolla Phones, not the basic USB-style chargers.
You can also download drivers for your PC that will let you charge with a standard USB cable. There's an excellent explanation of the drivers in this solution (not mine, but he/she did a great job)
I myself have so many phones that have batteries that will no longer charge or much less retain a 5 minute charge due to them being on ice for the longest time.
Best bet is to replace the battery with a new/used one.
Your charger is faulty. If your phone is able to charge off of other sources (computer, car charger, another wall charger) Then, the charger needs to be replaced. Some mobile companies have a 90 warranty on accessories like the charger and battery. Then the mobile manufacture (Motorola) has a 1 year warranty on the charge and battery. I would check on that, and get those replaced.
Close the flip screen. Unplug charger from the wall and the phone. First plug in phone jack into phone BUT make sure to push it in a bit sideways. Not too much it can break the pins but just with a little angle. When you hear good click than plug charger unit in the wall.
umm dat mite be a prob becuz the car usually pumps more voltage in the fone...........and if too much is pumped it damage the circuit board and mite even fry the system......
be care ful and keep trying the wall charger..........hope it works
