I am trying to find out if iphone supports excite email

  • Anonymous May 21, 2008

you need to buy premium package $20 a year to get pop3 access or else won't work

  • OHHH Nov 16, 2008

I can't seem to figure out how to get my iPhone to accept Excite.com email. I have 2 gmail, one ME.com and one Yahoo accounts, but that was easy. iPhone made it easy from a list, and Excite.com was not included. Excite.com has recently changed it's email, so I was wondering if the "POP3" from a premium $20 a year account is still necessary?

When you attempt to sign in, there should be a "Forgot Password" link to help you get in. Ah, theirs is a "Get help" link.

If you are not able to find excite email in your iPhone then follow few steps:
Tap "Settings" icon on your iPhone home screen and after that select Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Now Enter your name, Excite mail address and password and then tap Next.Last & the final step Select the "POP" tab and enter "pop3" as the incoming server and "smtp" as the outgoing server.

Set up delta email account on iphone

Go to settings on home page.  Then to "mail, contacts, and calenders". Then "add accounts". Fill in the blanks with your account info and it should work.  I know this sounds simplistic but that's really all there is to it.

Trying to set up my email to come to my phone

If you know what type of service you have from excite it should be pretty simple, however I know nothing about excite. Usually when email doesn't work from the perspective of the phone it is incorrect info in the setup on the phone itself. Key things to check are "incoming server info...you may have to try a few but i expect that it will be either a simple pop3 or an imap.excite.com typr; same for outgoing mail server prob smtp.excite.com or some variety; I believe it that f you leave the port number as it comes up that it defauls to the correct setting and that the defaults are based on the security setting. From there you have to specify how and how often your phone checks for/ receives mail.

The apple website has excellent info about most problems. Just go to the iphone FAQ first and if no luck there just scan thru theiphone support menus on the apple site.

Apple iPhone and Network Solutions web mail

So I had the same problem using a Network Solutions mail account and got it working. Here is what I did:

Name: Whatever you want
Address: [email protected] (user specific) Must include the @domain
Description: same as above
INCOMING MAIL SERVER
User Name: [email protected] (user specific) Must include the @domain
password: password
OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
Host name: smtp.domain.com
Username:no entry
password:no entry

At message that SSL failed select YES to continue without using SSL should get message twice (incoming & outgoing server tests)

Made no changes to Authentication (default-password) or Server port (default-25)

Came up and began to load mail instantly.Sent test mail and all is good.
