Refrigerator My refrigerator isnt cooling anymore. It is a chefmate model bc-50a. I removed the back cover all fans are running but the condensor isnt getting cold. What should I look for or replace. Thanks Nate

replace fan motor.

if you mean the compressor isn't running most likely you have a bad start device part 67005560,pull out machine unplug it and remove the bottom back panel,look at compressor,pop off metal clip and remove cover on the side of compressor,slide off the device and shake it,if the device is cooked you'll hear pieces rattling around inside it,install new part,if it still doesn't start could have a bad compressor.

unplug, take the back cover off.
Look at the circuit board.
at the top right of the board there is a fuse.
if it is blown, the frige is dead.
you will probily find that there is a brown burn mark
on the upper left side of the circuit board under an aluminum
heat sink. that electronic part probily overheated and blew up.
unless your electronics skils are up to it throw the frige away.
but if you are up to it unsolder it, bring it to frys electronics, and
get a new one. Good luck.

when you say you removed the cardboard, did you remove the back panel that covers the compressor, fan, and coils from the back? If so that is what is causing it to run too much, this will also effect the cooling.

remove motor and use the numbers on motor for replacement most appliance, hvac,and electrical supply stores even online carry replacement

check to see if the fan motor in the freezer is running. all the cooling happens in the freezer and the fan is what circulates the cold air down to the refrigerator.. if the fan isnt running ,it could be a bad connection or a bad fan motor..on some models the doors need to be closed before the fan comes on so just push on the door switch to check .if the fan is running then a defrost problem may be the problem.. you mentioned you defrosted the unit. if the auto defrost isnt working, you would notice frost on the back of the freezer. there would be a lot more frost behind that panel that could block the airflow down to the frig. you would have to remove rear panel of freezer to clear all the frost and restore proper airflow..remember to unplug the frig before doing any work..

it could be the thermostat is not switching them on, try changing the settings on them, if it still dont work you may need new thermostats fitted,

sounds like a bad thermostat,that tells unit when to kick on and off.

Check the back of you fridge and make sure the coils are clean. If you have access to a small air compressor, blow everything out and make sure the motor are is clean. The build up of dirt on the coils will not let the heat escape during the cooling process.

normally squeeling sounds from the freezer is evapurators fan motors... need to pull back panel off freezer and check out fan motor
