If there is no LED burning to indicate there is power than the power supply is faulty.Repair is not verry easy to do with these complicated power supply's.

If you have a bad power supply board on an LG or Vizo plasma TV (they're the same basic model) then instead of trying to repair the existing power supply I would recommend replacing the entire board with a new one or a known good used one. I have a 42" LG plasma TV (model #42PC3d) and was able to get a replacement power supply from Ebay.com for $30 - shipping included. Replacing the board is pretty simple just follow these steps:

1. Take off the sheet metal back plate off the TV (there are a LOT of fasteners)

2. Disconnect all of the wiring harness plugs from the board and hold the wire harnesses out of the way.

3. Remove the four screws holding the power supply board to the back of the TV and remove the board.

4. Install the new board, connect the wire harnesses and install the back on the TV.

BTW - The power supply board is in the middle of the back of the TV towards the top and has several transformers on it with yellow plastic coverings on them. The boards at each end of the TV on the back are the Y and Z Sustain boards.

I have a LG 42 inch plasma that turned off and doesnt want to turn back on. im thinking is the sensor is there anyone that can help out with this problem?

If you can turn it on with the button on the unit itself then it may be the IR sensor, but if you can't turn it on then it is very unlikely the sensor.

The power supply board of the 42PG20-UA is a known source of exactly this problem, although definitely not the only one that could possibly cause it.

Below is a link for a repair of the board, but the listing also contains a link to an article on how to test the power supply board alone, which is pretty useful before spending time and money sending it for repair. If anything you can rule one board out:

I'm looking for a free download of a LG plasma 42PG20 service manual

Hello....My first question to you is if the set is under any warranty?...If so..do not open the unit..They have ways of telling if the set was opened...this will VOID the warranty. If so...exercise your warranty rights. If the set is not under warranty..Check this out...This clicking sound you hear is caused by a relay opening and closing because of a voltage instability of an unknown cause..in other words...in order for the relay to remain closed..the voltage must be maintained at a certain level constantly...if it drops...it turns loose..The cause of the power supply voltage drop should be evaluated by a qualified servicer ..one that can gaurantee the repair..If you try to repair this yourself...you could injure yourself and/or cause further damage to the equipment...Word to the wise..Get it serviced...Let me know how it turns out...I hope this was helpful...PEACE...

I have a 42" lg

It would seem as though the power supply. If the television is still under warranty I would contact LG to arrange for a servicing of the unit.

http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-warranty-claims.jsp
This is the website for LG's warranty support. Just follow the instructions on the page.

If your unit is not under warranty then you either must have a qualified LG technician come out to service the unit at your own expense or attempt to repair yourself which I would not recommend.

LG 42PG20 42" Plasma.

i have seen on some of those models bad power supplies. if you take the back off the tv you wil see a board in the top center that is the power supply board. you may have about 8-9 vented capacitors towards the left hand side of the board. they will look like they are exploding on the top some may even have black residue on the top that is the leaking electrolytic fluid. they will proabaly be 3300micro farad at 16volt high temp 105degree capacitors.

How do i switch my lg 42pg20-ua to digital audio outpu

you shouldn't need to switch anything, you do however need an audio reciever with a digital audio in jack, that's all connect the d.a.o. to the stereo in the right jack, and you should be good to go.

There are several known issues that can cause that.

The top candidate is the main board, the next is the Y-Main board.

Here's a link for repairing the power supply board of LG 42PG20, which also contains a link to how to test your own board to see if it is good or not:
