Every single manual is avalable from the Avaya website. The cabinet in the back room is either off-white or gray metal. If it's an off-white one, it's probably a Legend. If it's gray metal, it's a Magix. The manuals are HUGE. Most of my customers have an 8 1/2 x 11 Administrator's guide, and a little spiral bound set user's guides, both for the console and the MLX-28DP phones.
Search around your place and see if someone has one squirreled away.
I have the Merlin Legend system. To change to auto attendant is an "administrator" funtion. From the main console, go into the administrator mailbox-enter passwords-go to the #3, which is automated attendant-press 1 for Day menu-press 6 to modify the menu. The menu "prompt" is what you want to change-the recording. If you no longer have an administrator or someone that knows the administrator's mailbox number and passwords, you will probably have to call Avaya and pay them the $650/hr they now want for remote programming, OR calla alocal person with Merlin Legend programming expertise.
