Question about Mitsubishi WD-62725 62" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
Started noticing noise on my PC input. Swapped VGA cables and laptops, no change. All other inputs display fine.
Hi happy new year.
If you are sure the leads are ok and you sure the problem is with the telly itself then the problem is likely to be a solder one.
Where you plug the lead in thse sometimes work lose causing a bad connection.
If this is the case then you will need to remove casing and resolder the input terminals that go onto the board itself.
You could even replace it with new one to be sure its not the connector itself causing the problem.
The other problem that can cause interference with this type of telly is what i had and that was i had several units connected to my telly and my ps3 sound was making noise but i found out if i disconected other items plugged into my telly then the sound would be fine i was told that it was to do with using cheap leads to connect the equipment with so try this first and see if the sound is better as taking the telly apart is something as a last resort.
Also if you are unsure what you are doing then its best to take to repair shop as you could destroy the telly.
If it is only solder problem this should be repaired for next to nothing.
If this is also not the problem you will then need to look at all the resistors around the input port and also on the amp part of the tell where the speakers on the telly are connected to the board.
You will need a good magnifying glass to check all resistors but remember these telly carry really high voltage that will kill and the telly is still live upto 24 hours after it has been switched off at mains.
So if you are unsure please leave to pro as you could destroy the telly and even yourself.
If you are doing it yourself make sure you earth yourself out by touchin something metal like radiator that goes to earth as the static can destroy chips on the board.
Let me know how you get on ok

1. Unit powers on and works properly for a while then shuts off with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Suspect bad lamp part # 915P020010 2. Lamp enable line at J14 pin 6 does not switch to 5 volts after turn on, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977020 3. At power on the lamp turns on and off three times and then the unit shuts down with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Replace the Light Engine part # 939P977020 4. Check for 12-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 4 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check for an open F9A09 on the Power PCB, if it is open replace F9A09 part # 283P127060 and the Light Engine part # 939P977020 5. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on but does not go back to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977020 6. Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if low or missing check C9A37 and C9A38 both 3300 UFD 10 V part # 181P732040 on the Power PCB part # 934C148001 From the noise you described it could also be that the color wheel is failing. Fans and the color wheel can cause shutdown. And if any of this sounds too complicated it's time to bite the bullet and take it into the shop. Find a reputable shop and one that will give you a written estimate before proceeding.
