I have the Philips HTS3450 DVD home theater system. I have had it for over a year now, and love it, except.... In the past couple of moths we recently moved. After hooking up the system exactly like it was premove, I get a clicking sound that starts out spaced apart, and progressivly gets closer, and closer, until it becomes one high pitched sound from all my speakers. It reminds me of some kinda of warming up sequance. It started out rather quickly, and over the past few months has gotten longer and slower. There is no sound until it goes through this routine. once its done, all is well, until.... Today, no clicking, no progression to a high pitch union. Nothing. So now I have no sound what so ever. I have double, and tripled checked all connections. Recycled the power several times. Double and tripled checked all settings too. I do not know what could be wrong....
If the sound goes out completely, try hitting the mute button (to mute it) and then hit it again (to un-mute). I've found that this work-around typically gets it working, at least.

No audio. Just buzzing noise for about 2 minutes then nothing.
Same problem, no sound just buzzing. I've tried unplugging all cords and still nothing. ANY help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
same thing here, fine after a few minutes!!!
No fix and just spoke to Philips and they don't replace their products that are beyond the warrenty anymore . I filed a complaint with the BBB......
I have the HTS 3450 and like clock work the buzzing started a year after I bought it. It would buzz like a warming up cycle and I had to mute it several times to get it to work. After a few months of this, the sound went out completely.
The exact same problem... worked for a couple of years.. then the buzzing started.. and it would pop and crackle and get louder and louder.. then stop... i'd hit the mute.. then undo it then it worked. as of now it finally went out completely. Sucks.
Same thing exactly as written before.. I mean dead on. And I have a feeling the people that are hitting the mute and getting it back on, well that's what I did for the last couple of months, then.. it just went out. Completely, in fact I have it dissassembled and reassembled in another room.. same deal.. think its shot. funny how everyone is having the same problem about the same time. Obviously shoddy engineering on Phillips part... All I can say is learn my lesson and not buy their products again.... (then maybe they'll get a bailout too)
We've had the HTS3450 for two years now. Stupid system works off an on. Buzzing started a few months ago and now no sound at all. Just stopped working in the middle of a movie one day. I have unpluged everything twice and replugged it back in and still nothing. At this point I think trashing it is the best solution!
