I have a magic chef clothes dryer about 3 years old. Model # CYE3004AYW Serial # 14573775EN. All of a sudden it quit working. The light doesn't come on when I open the door, the drum does not turn and the heat does not turn on. When I turn the knob to time dry I can hear the timer going. Other than that nothing. I checked the circuit breaker and that is fine. I inspected the cord and wires going into the dryer and took off the back panel of the dryer. Everything looks good. No burn marks or broken wires. Thanks for your help.

Well.. you probably smoked a high limit that controls your heating element.. which controls the whole machine. This part isn't very expensive, but it is a task to get to. You're hearing your timer because it's designed like a kitchen timer (no power). If you're uncomfortable doing this yourself (don't play with 220 if you're inexperienced).
If it is 8 months old it probably is under warranty call magic chef they will usually send someone out. Have your purchase stub ready or they can go by the manufacture date but that might be over a year.
There is a thermal fuse inside the dryer usually located behind the
back cover on the upper part of the combustion chamber. When this fuse
"blows" it turns off power to the whole dryer. This keeps your house
from burning to the grown, and you from dying. The fuse "blows" for a
reason, most likely to is lint build-up in the dryer and/or dryer vent
system. The good new it only cost a few dollars to get a new one. The
bad news is you need to find out why it "blew", the dryer got to hot
for a reason.
