Our RCA 32" tru flat will not work! You can turn the power on and the green light appears - then it immediately shuts itself off. You never get a picture or sound - just turns on and then off again. What is the problem? Can this tv be saved/fixed?
How old is this TV?
Sounds like it has high voltage failure.
(If you hold your hand on the screen when you try and turn it on, do you feel the static? )
Unless the set is over 10 years old, I would overhaul the high voltage circuit. Should cost under $200 at a shop.

We just purchased it from a friend...I think it's only like 4-5 years old. We thought we were getting a good deal for $75 and it worked for a week and then stopped!
I turned it on, heard the sound, walked away to let the dog in - came back through the door and it had turned itself off. Then, every time I pressed the power button - the button turned green (as if it were powering on) and then it would immediately power off - never showing a picture or sound again. I did all of this via the buttons directly on the tv (we haven't gotten the remote yet for it)
Should I feel static in front when I try to power it on?
