Hello,
You get access the command by pressing [MATH][1: |->Frac].
If you want enter a fraction and keep it as a fraction (albeit a reduced one)
key in the number then the sequence [MATH][1: |->Frac]., then [ENTER].

Practice : 27/48 [MATH][1: |->Frac] [=] gives the reduced form 9/16.
While this fraction is still in [ANS] memory, you can press [MATH][2: |->Dec] [=] to get the decimal value 0.5625
Hope it helps.

Can the ti 68 do fractions

My Ti 83 does fractions (once you go into "math" then "fraction>" it converts a decimal to a fraction) And the Ti86 came out a year after the TI83, so that's going to be a yes.

I'm trying to find the fraction button on my texas instrument ti 83 plus calculator and cannot find it

There is no "fraction" button on the TI-83 plus. You will have to press the divide key (2 buttons below the CLEAR key) and then use the parentheses (immediately to the left of the divide key) to tell the calculator the correct order of operations. For example, "1/3x+9" means ".333333x+9", but "1/(3x)+9" means the "x" goes on the bottom of the fraction.

How do you put a fraction into a TI-83?

The TI-83 doesn't really work with fractions. You can enter a fraction as a quotient. For example, one-third can be entered as (1/3) by pressing ( 1 / 3 ). However, the calculator works with numbers in decimal format. You can convert a result to a fraction by using the >Frac command, available by pressing MATH 1.

How do I get a fraction as an answer instead of a decimal?

The TI-83 can only convert a small range of numbers to a fraction. To try so, use the >Frac function on the MATH menu. Press MATH 1 to invoke it.

How do i multiply fractions on texas instrument TI-83 calculator

The division sign acts like a fraction on the ti-83; to multiply two fractions you may want to wrap them both in parenthesis to get the order of operations correct.
