No Volume from cable input

The sound is probably set to the SAP channel (language) and the SAP channel is not active on the program you are watching. Just push the SAP button on the remote. The button might be labelled SAP or LANG. This will return you to the main sound channel which is always active.

We bought a universal remote to increase our access to cable channels. Some of the channels display the symbols S.A.P. and have no volume. How do we disable the S.A.P so we can hear the volume.?

S.A.P. Means Secondary Audio Program.

SAP, Mono, Stereo, Etc. You should be able to switch this from your remote. Even universal remotes should have this button to adjust sounds. Otherwise you need to go into the TV menu (not the remote) and change it from there. The only way you can change it on those channels is to switch manually. Happens a lot on these older TVs. No worries. Very common.

On many sets, the audio channel can be switched by remote control or through a SAP switch located around the tuning panel or "on screen programming." Usually, there is a setting labeled SAP, AUDIO SELECT, B-AUDIO, MTS, or MENU. By changing the setting, you should be able to select SAP. Not all TV sets are alike, so you might want to check your instruction manual for all the details.

How do I get my rca truflat tv to get out of mono?

Hello
Press the MTS on the remote control handset to select STEREO, MONO or SAP. All the options will be available only when the current TV channel is broadcasting that option. Channels will not always carry programes, that have all MTS options. If "STEREO" appears on the screen when you select a channel means stereo sound is available with current programme. You can hear sound from both speakers. If broadcast is not strong and clear, stereo sound will not be available. Press "MTS" button to change it to "Mono". This will eliminate the noise. If "MONO" appears on the screen when you select a channel, stereo effect will not be availabe, even though you have set it to stereo. If "SAP" appears when you select a channel 'Second Audio Programe' [SAP] broadcasting is available for that programme. Press the "MTS" button to 'SAP' and you can hear that programe in different language or some other kind of audio.

Vizio tv cannot hear volume on all of the channels just some.

Try this:
Apparently the TVGOS (TV2_bing.gif Guide On Screen) signal on CBS stations (since the 6/12 digital changeover) can cause the sound to be missing on those channels. Use the SAP button on the remote to page through the SAP options. When you return to the normal setting the sound will be restored. This problem should not occur again unless the SAP button is pressed.

Spectroniq PLTV-20NW32 volume only works on some channels

Hi lisadean767,
It is possible that without realizing, your TV is programmed to receive SAP or Second Audio Program audio. When this happens, your TV responds like this: when SAP is not being broadcast, you'll receive regular program audio. However, when the SAP audio is sent along with the regular, (English) program audio, your TV will automatically switch to the SAP channel. You'll know your TV is programmed to receive SAP because you'll hear the commercials in English and any other program in English if the SAP is not being sent.

Check and see if your tv is setup for SAP. Let me know if this helps and if I can be of further assistance, Please rate this solution.

Stereo Sap comes up - no volume - increasing channels unable to a

SAP stands for secondary audio program. It can be used to broadcast another audio soundtrack, like spanish etc. Look on the remote for an audio button and try that. You can look in the menu if that doesn't work. If you find it, make sure it is off. If you can't find it post this problem again with the brand name and model number of your tv. I will try to find the solution.

I have an audio problem LC-26d43u

What's "everything"?? Have you looked at the audio menu to see if you were on SAP (second audio program).. Being in SAP could affect one or more channels that do not broadcast in SAP mode.
