I think your phone still locked for particular network carrier and you must unlock it before you can use your sim card in that phone. To unlock blackberry storm 9530 from current network carrier you only need a reliable blackberry unlock code where you can get from third parties sites.

3) Please check your blackberry handset with other sim if it is working fine.

Just type any password until you fail 10 times, it will make you blackberry storm 9530 unlocked from old password. But this method have side effect which mean all your previous data will be erased after your blackberry unlocked.

Typically when the phone is in SOS mode, it's not on your carrier, in this case I would assume Verizon. I suggest calling Verizon or going to a store and requesting that they activate the phone and put it on the network.
Before you do that, call *228 and that may fix your issue, if not go to the carrier's store.
