TV sound but no picture

I have a philips 50PFP5332D/37 TV. I have it connect to a cable box via a HDMI cable....has worked fine until today. I was watching tv for several hours, then turned off the tv for 30 minutes. when i turned it back on, i get sound but no picture. The screen indicated GS511_HDCP_DLG and states "Your TV does not allow display of this program through the DVI input source. Please choose another TV Input source."

what do you think?

Can you tell me which Cable box you are using?Which model/region?

The possibility is that the HDCP handshake could not have happend correctly and hence the issue. Try to connect to different HDMI input of TV from Cable box. If possible change the resolution of cable box and check video

frequenly asked questions- you will probably need to also use an aux sound input in conjunction with a video cable if you are not using an hdmi connection, read the article above for confirmation.

Phillips Plasma Tv 50pfp5332d/37 has red pixels but no picture, what is wrong

if you are using a HDMI cable and it is just the picture not the tv controls that is red, the cable might be loose, but if it wont do anything and the tv controls don't show up or anything than that's not the problem

Hitachi l42vpo1u no sound through hdmi

HDMI port damaged, mainboard need to be replaced.

But be absolute sure your HDMI port is not working properly, I recommed you try it again with another HDMI cable, you can also try same cable in another TV.

Denon avr-1907 sound from TV stopped working

Help with hooking PS3 to a Denon Receiver. It worked before, but I had to move everything to a different location and when I hooked it back up the PS3 has sound but no picture. I have it hooked directly to the receiver with and HDMI cable (the receiver is hooked up to our cable box which is directly hooked to the tv via HDMI cable).

Television has sound but no picture

Check the cables first that connect to your video device, are they in tightly?  Test the cables on another TV to make sure they haven't gone bad, which is common.  Also check the input selection on the TV to make sure it matches with the video input the cable is connected to.

No Picture

sounds like the digital video controller went out. you can test this on this unit by using the coax out and connecting to your tv, it seems to have its own video card looking inside the unit, however it is possible it is controlled centrally thorugh the main card in that case you will confirm by it not working and still only gettting sound through the coax.
