Fan noise My 18 month Mitsubishi HC3000 - MIKY has an excessive fan noise. It has a whirling sound that changes pitch.

    What is the CPU?

  • janran Jan 03, 2008

Thanks for the explaination. I thought that sounded like computer term which confessed me. There is a side grill with a foam filter and I was surprized that it had not a spec of dust on it. This 18 mo. unit is mounted on the ceiling in a room without windows, which may explain why it's not dusty. Since I first contacted you I have learned that this projector has a 2 year parts & labor warranty and I suspect that the fan will need to be replaced. Now I'm not sure I want to try to fix this myself. myselfhttp://www.nationalprojector.com/MITSUBI...

Fan noise running when tv is on

Mitsubishi rear projection DLP keeps turning off and shutting down. The red light then turns on for a while and then turns off. TV can be turned on again and works fine until a random shutdown occurs again. No fault codes are stored. No blink codes. No airflow warning messages. The original thermal sensor was replaced 8-1/2 years ago. Fans are completely clean and running smoothly. I fixed this problem by replacing the 8.5-year-old thermal sensor. The problem is gone. Mitsubishi thermal sensor part number 299P313010A. Manufacturer part number YS11A95B-C6. Do not use the connector plug. Strip the wires, and hard wire and solder the 2 connections. This might also apply to these models: WD-52631, WD-57731, WD-57732, WD-65732, WD-57831, WD-65831, WD-Y57, WD-Y65

right found the question
sounds to me the that either the crank nut or the cam nut is rubbing on the head cover casing
pop the cam cover casing off and have a look
for any scraping marks
if that is the problem it needs to go in the shop for a look at
it could be the mains or the spacer washers on the crank
or something simple link the clutch
i know its low milage but these need very regular full service and oil change every 10 to 15k

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing to me. Try slightly turning to the left than to the right when the noise begins. If it changes pitch, than it is most probably a bad wheel bearing.

Whirling Noise

Sounds like fuel pump pressurizing the fuel system. They do that for 2-3 seconds and then it stops (for fuel injected vehicles).

18 Mo old Samsung CXM2785TP made high pitched noise and lost power

The high pitch sound could have been the flyback transformer. check the horzontal output transsitor if is gone the tranfomer is sure to be gone . Tranformers are varying in price are the transistors can also vary you could be looking at around 150.00 plus labour.
