This is not good. White smoke is usually coolant, but the deposits on the plugs indicates oil related issue. Major exploritory surgery is in your future.

Start with a leak down test, and based on the results of that, your next step will be more clear.

Sorry for the bad news, but you already knew that, with the smoke report.

Thick white smoke on start-up. After engine warms up very little smoke or no smoke at all noticable. could it be the PCV valve?

white smoke indicates a coolant burning problem. most likely a head gasket and when it gets warmed up the expansion of the mating components seals off most of the leak. have a head gasket check done. burning of oil is a bluish colour not white.

Have 1995 ford econovan petrol had stem seals replaced 2 years ago motor idles perfect runs really well not losing water oil still clean blowing white smoke from exhaust mainly on mainly on acceleration

Blown head gasket. Pull the spark plugs. The cleanest one is where it is blowing or sucking coolant. Sorry. White is water/coolant. black is gas. bluish is oil.

Engine running bad at idle

There are several causes for this, including the above.
Check the spark plugs and coils/wires. Lose or worn parts can cause this. If the spark plugs have thick black residue, you have an oil leak. A flat black powdery residue is too much air. A thick crusty white/yellowish residue would be a coolant leak.
If it is blowing blue or white smoke when running, the you have an oil (blue) coolant (white) leak that needs to be fixed. Normal smoke is grayish in color.
Check all the vacuum lines as a leak may be the problem.

After Idle for a while as I drive away there's a lot of smoke that comes out of the exhaust pipe kind of white and bluish

Thats oil caused by "blow by" it means your piston rings are wearing out or you have scratches in the cylinder walls, causing oil to "blow by" the rings and burn during spark. Only way to permanantly fix is to rebuild. You may get temp fix by using a product called restore. It is sold at autoparts stores.

Too much white smoke in first start , lose much eng oil

A LOT OF WHITE BLUISH SMOKE ON START UP.VALVE SEALS LEAKING OIL AND OIL RETURN HOLES COULD BE STOPPED UP CAUSING OIL POOLING UNDER THE VALVE COVER OIL LEAKING DOWN BY VALVE SPRINGS AND VALVE SEALS CAUSING ENGINE TO SMOKE A LOT.CHECK A SPARK PLUG SEE IF ITS OIL SOAKED.

My plymouth voyager just started smoking

If its bluish smoke coming out of the exhaust, then engine oil is leaking past the piston's oil rings. You'll need an engine rebuild, or give its last rites before sending to the salvage yard. If it's white, it should clear up as the engine warms up. White smoke is caused by lack of heat temperature in the combustion chamber. If the engine is warm, and its still smoking (black smoke), then too much fuel is entering one (or more) of the cylinders, which is often caused by a faulty fuel injector. To diagnose which injector is faulty, remove and inspect each spark plug. Any Haynes or Chilton manual has a spark plug section showing what a normal spark plug should look like, versus one caused by faulty injectors.
