I just turned on my x box 360 to play madden 5 minutes later the video got all black but u could still here the sound.. could u help me pls
Something to try is just leave the xbox on for an hour, turn off let cool for 5 min. If that doesn't work, it's a difficult solution to recommend but the towel trick' does work, let it over heat the 360 for about 20 min, then let it cool for 20 more min, and it now works fine, I have a inner cooler now to keep from overheating again.

Seriously. Everyone having the black screen problem, the towel thing does work. I used tape to block the vent on the back of my 360. Now its back to normal, I got Picture!!!
For the audio working but the video not working it is usually the hdtv/tv switch being accidently switched or stuck in the inappropriate position try to make sure it is in the correct position. also if you have switched it to a high def tv then back you may need to go back and change the settings back in the video settings of your 360
Hi, would that heating and cooling towel trick work even though my xbox is not over heating or hot. Its just the video doesnt work and the audio does, would there towel trick be worth doing for that problem?
The same thing with me, audio is fine but the video is not working for anything, i tried a different TV, and unplugging it and plugging t in again and everything, it still doesnt work this stinks please help!
Tom is the ABSOLUTELY the best out there for repair. I have sent him 2 of my Xbox360's and he fixed both of them and sent them back in the same week!!!

my x box 360 has a black screen with purple lines on it. it is connected to an HDTV. the video is not working but the audio works. any ideas on what the problem is? I purchased a new chord for the tv but it has the same problem. I am thinking that it could be an issue with the system.
i am also having the same problem. the audio is working fine when i put a game in, but no video. i also bought a new cord, but that wasnt the problem. i tried it on other tv's as well.
I have the exact same thing, but I'm not going to do the 'towel trick', it'll probably do more harm than good in the long run.

Purple horizontal lines or white dots for the display. Sound is fine. No red lights.
