The Flat Screen TV if has, a HDMI input, also has VGA Input.

You must choose :HDMI or VGA, if HDMI The VGA board must Have HDMI Connector, and you connect a HDMI cable to the TV.

The HDMI is a digital signal input/output, VGA is Analog Signal. You must have Signal Converter if you Use the 2 signals

If you have a DVI-D output, then all it takes is a DVI-D -> HDMI cable (a better choice, you can purchase a cable of needed length), or a DVI-D -> HDMI adapter. The signals are compatible.
Note that, unlike a DVD/BR player, only video will be transmitted to the HDMI socket, sound will still come from the computer.

If you have the HDMI to DVI adapter....you will need the male HDMI to female DVI adapter...Radio Shack sell them. Your computer will recognise the TV as a monitor and should display without incident.

I have a 22" Westinghouse

Change the settings on your HDMI output to 720 progressive for resolution. The tv likely cannot handle the 1080 resolution, or the tv can only use interlaced (1080i or 720i) format.

Emerson 42 inch television flat screen HDTV: i connected a DVI to HDMI cable to dell computer screen to television in order to display computer screen to it but the signal isn't working, how do i...

Your Dell Monitor does not have a video output. The DVI/HDMI cable needs to run from the DVI-Out of you computer tower directly to the TVs HDMI input, ideally one with a red/white analog audio input next to it, because that cable only provides a video signal. If you don't have a DVI out on your computer, perhaps your TV has a VGA input. If your computer/video card only has one monitor connector, then you can only connect the Monitor OR the TV.

How do I get my PC video signal to my TV. I s there a way with a wireless router and how will that be connected to my TV. Thank you.

Hi, you can use basic video cables to get your TV to act as a monitor. It depends on which ports your computer and TV have. You can use an S-video cable, a serial cable (with the blue connector that many monitors use), an HDMI cable, or a DVI cable. If both your computer and your TV both have any of these same ports, all you need is the cable and you can have your TV receive video signals from your computer.

Hope that helps!

Trying to hook compaq presario laptop to philips lcd digital tv

hey fox,
sounds to me like a connection problem. If the compaqs output is vga, you need to convert the input (tv side ) to hdmi, component, s-vidio... what ever you can find. Typically when you hook up your computer to a flat screen or such, its best to try to use the hdmi ports or the rpg. But if thats not available you need to take the outout from your laptop ( whatever type that might be and input it into your flat screen tv. If you input laptop into tv under ( eg..HDMI) then when you VIEW it you need to select the correct source on your flat screen. Such as hdmi or pcmi or rpg.I know that the do sell alot of cables that adapt from one type of connection to another. Typically only one cable is required from the laptop to the flat screen. If you think about it you are only using the flat screen as a monitor.

Toshiba 32AV500U HDMI issues

The Toshiba 32AV500U cannot display 1080p. Hook up your PS3 to your computer monitor, provided that it can display 1080p, or some other TV that can, then change your Video Output settings under Settings> Display Settings and uncheck 1080p, which will allow the PS3 to display in 1080i. Once you do that, then hook up the Toshiba via HDMI and it will work with no problem.

How to get color on my tv

tv is looking for an input from an hdmi or dvid cable. if you are running another cable, it will likely drop to a black and white or a lower grade image. its probably part of digital rights management control, also called the 'analog hole'. its intention is to protect digital media from being copied. the hdmi and the dvid cables allow the tv to talk to the source such as dvd player. the dvd player has a chip in it to make certain that the signal is not going to a copier of some sort, and will only allow full hd signal to a device it can confirm (with a sort of handshake) is a monitor.
get one of the cables that will fit both devices. if that is not the solution, you have a serious problem with the monitor. talk to the makers service center before looking further.
good luck

Connection for tv cable to hitachi 42" plasma Tv

there is no cable slot. the monitor is not a receiver. it has no tuner in it. it will need a signal from a tuner box. and that must be fed to the tv with an hdmi cable or a dvid cable for hd to work. see your manual for further information on cables. see your cable supplier for information on hd boxes available in your area. if you do not buy hd service, you will not get an hd signal. so you will see little difference from a non hd device. your dvd player may have hd capabilities, but will also need the same cable to deliver true hd signal.
the good news is that its fixable by using the right equipment.
good luck
