I have an acer aspire RC900/RC500 model. When i switch it on it trys to load windows xp then stops saying'the application has fialed to initalize properly quoting (0xc0000142) can you help

Ok, i just got it working, quite simple really, find the problem program .exe file (not the shortcut), right click it and change the compatibility mode to "windows xp sp2".
worked for me.

That's a sign of a corrupted Windows install. Get out your recovery CD and reinstall Windows.

Sorry about my bad english, I have this issue with an aspire 5610: windows xp begins to start but after inital drivers loading stops with a blank screen. This appens starting with xp cd too. No safe mode....
I expect there are missing drivers. Check on the Acer.com web site to see if XP is supported and then if it isn't, load Win7 or Vista.

How can I manage the two fans of my PC, Aspire RC900, which make a lot of noise and don't never stop running ?
There are super quiet fans on the market. A good place to start looking in ebay. From there you will be able to follow links to different manufacturers as you require.
Igloo make super quiet fans for desktop systems.
