If your screen is crack, you will have to contact sandisk..usually new devices come with a year of garantee..check with sandis to see if they can set up an RMA for your device...

You have songs that may be protected or the wrong format for your device. delete the bad song and download another copy from a different source and try it. This is not to uncommon due to different file formats and protection in the song files When you rip songs from another device often some won't load or play in another device especially if they are paid for songs.
I couldn't get my e260 to work at all. Came to fixya and was able to reformat. Comes on now but can't get computer to recognize it and also will not let me set date and time. (time and battery level do not even show up on bottom of e260 screen). Help!
i had the same problem with mine and my computer didn't detected it so try plugging it in and out a few time it might work.but if that doesn't work go on settings and change the usb setting
you have 2 things to do :
1- if you have the warranty you could exchane it.
2- Go to an lectronic store and buy the screen seperately, take the first one off than put the other one.
For everyone having e260 problems here is the answer. First make sure that you have your usb mode on msc before plugging in to the computer. Then go to folder options and select show hidden folders. You now have access to the music folders and can delete music. You can create a new folder or use the music folder for your music. To prevent future problems go to properties on the hidden folders and unhide them.
The sansa e260 seems to have a hell of alot of faults. If SanDisk brings out a firmware upgrade definately take it, also I would strongly suggest that you write a letter to ScanDisk letting them know the grief it has caused you. I have an e260 and it has not had any problems so far, so I guess theres a little give or take sorta thing happening here.
i have the same problem....i am currently trying to get mine fixed. Sandisk told me to take a picture of the broken mp3 player and send it to [email protected], i have sent it to them 8 times within the past 2 months and they still said they have not recieved it. let me know if you find anything out...
