Hi,

This spark module has a feed back from each of burner igniters and when it senses the flame - it stops sparking.

Most likely you switched around the wires from the front burner igniters and the spark does not receive the right input.

If you turn on both front burners at the same time - does it stop sparking?
If it does, just switch the wires around

If it doesnt stop sparking, then

Check the electrical connection to the stove for possible reversed polarity and proper grounding.
Check all burner igniters for any damages (cracked or broken ceramic insulation).
Check all burners for proper assembly. Check if the burner cap is in place on every burner.
Clean all burner igniters, using a rubbing alcohol.

To check the burner ignitor switch

A good place to start would be the burner ignitor switches. Each burner control has a switch with two wires going to it. (One at a time) You can remove one wire from each switch to see if the sparking stops. If so then you have a shorted burner ignitor switch. Make sure the metal tip of the wire doesn’t touch you or ground.

Another possibility is a spilled liquid or a cleaning stuff could get inside a switch, causing a short.
Please leave me comment, if you need further assistance

I have a HD2515U Stainless Steel Dual Fuel stove (hooked up to propane, not natural gas). Oven still works, but burners wont ignite. It has electric ignitors. I've followed all the steps to make sure...

The wiring harness for the burners sound like is shot! I would think about buying a new one! have You tried to light the burners with a lighter or match to see if they will ignite? If so,replace the wiring harness, over time they go bad and short out! If You Can use lighter to ignite burner I would use the long nosed ones like You start charcoal with till The new wiring harness arrives! You will save the hair on Your arm that way! LOL! Good Luck!

How to replace electric ignitor

Locate the current ignitor on your grill. Turn counter clockwise until you can remove from grill. Pull out AA battery and replace with new one. Repeat the first step except turn clockwise.

I have a firemagic 6 burner grill with 3 ignitors- 2 of my ignitor wires came loose somehow - wondering how do i reconnect them? Tried to push them into the back of the ignitor but wont just plug back in.

What you're trying to do is correct. It's the only way the ignition wires attach to the Ignitor Module. Are the push-on female connectors on the end of the wires still intact? If not, that's the problem.

Hope this helps you.

Where do I find the battery to replace so the grill will ignite?

Thew battery is inside the push button ignitor. Remove the outer plastic ring around the rubber push button. It unscrews counterclockwise. The battery will be inside the holder. Replace the old battery with a new, like kind (AA or AAA). Before you install the new battery, look inside the batter holder for corrosion. If you see any, clean it with a Q-Tip and WD40. When you install the new battery, be sure it's facing the direction as the old one was, you removed. Usually, the + end should face you. Reinstall the ignitor button cap and you should be ready to go.

How do i replace the ignitor. it doesnt spark. thanks

Before I get into how to replace the Ignitor Module, I have to ask ... Have you replaced the battery?

If not, the battery can be accessed by loosening the outer ring of the ingnitor button. The button will come of and yo will see either one AAA batter or one AA battery. Make note of the direction the head (+) of the battery is facing, because when you replace it with a new one, out of the package, alkaline battery, it must be facing the same direction.

If a new batter still doesn't solve the problem, there may be a loose wire going to the ignitor head inside the grill. Trace the wire(s) down to check this. In you can reach the ignitor head inside the grill, slide the wire off the bottom of the head (it's just pushed up on what will look like a large pin). Then push it back on. This will reestablish the ground. Also, check the spark portion of the ignitor to make sure its not covered with grease. If it is, clean it off with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.

If none of the above solves your problem, you can remove the Ignitor Module by unscrewing the retainer ring, that is around the portion of the ignitor on the front of the control panel of the grill. The Module will then be removable from underside of the control panel.

The new module should come completely wired, which means you will have to run the new wires to the Ignitor head that I previously mentioned, as well as the ground.

Hope this helps you solve your problem. Please let me know if I can be of further help.

Happy Grilling!!!

Ignitor will not strike

Have you changed the battery in the Ignitor Button? If not, unscrew the plastic ring that holds the ignitor button/cap in place. Once you have, you will see either a AA battery or a AAA battery. Note which way it's facing. Replace the battery with a new one out of the package, being sure it's facing the right direction. But, before putting it in, check inside the holder for any corrosion that the dead battery may have caused. If you see corrosion, carefully clean it out.

If the above didn't solve the problem, check all the ignitor contacts at each burner for grease deposits. If you find some, clean it with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol. If that fails to solve the problem, check all the ingnitor wire connections to make sure they are still firmly in place.

Any or all of the above should solve your problem and get you back up grilling again.

Hope this helped you.

I plugged in my new grill and it does not power up. The only thing that works on the grill is the rotisserie. Can you help?

Presumably you have the grill connected to your 120v house power via an extension cord to the electrical box attached on the outside rear of the grill.

And that is where your rotisserie is plugged in, into one of the two available outlets at that same electrical box.

The other outlet is meant for the hood light, which connects via a pigtail from the little transformer inside rear of the grille. (If that connection is made and the light still does not work, check the bulb for burnout.)

Does the ignitor work? You probably already know this from reading the manual, but there is an AA battery which powers the ignitor--not the 120v system. Unscrew the cap on the ignitor button and ensure a new alkaline AA battery is installed correctly, put - (negative) side of battery in first.

Hope this helps!

Hi There,
This is an easy fix. Go to your local Lowe's or Home Depot and get yourself a new Ignitor Button
they are standard. Just pop the old one out and install the new one placing the 2 wires on the spade connectors where the old one was, and your done! Takes less than 30 minutes to change! Happy Grilling! Thank you for using FixYa!

Where do ignition wires go?

The loop type connection that you are referring to is probably what they call a ring lug and that should be bonded to the grill frame.. The other wire goes directly onto the ignitor and when you push the button, yo develop a spark from the ignitor electrode to the grounded part of the gas burner.. that is near the gas jet.. Hope that helps
