...Now it won't turn on. I have checked power cables, all of the switches, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Are there any fuses I can check?
Thanks in advance,
Martin
HI.
these nak units are kind of fussy. First check the main pin connection cable that goes from you control unit to the sub. Sometimes they get loose or the pins become misaligned. This will cause the system to become inoperable. Also, check the fuse on the sub unit. On my ss8 (not 8.5) there is a fuse inside the sub/amp box. just unscrew the cover plate and you will find it there. You can buy a replacement at radio shack for a couple bucks.

I have exactly the same problem.
The same happened to me just now; I was watching a DVD and all of a sudden there was a low pop (like when you hear a sub give a bad sound) and now nothing would turn on. I tried to unplug everything and plug it back in and still nothing.
Same problem. I changed the batteries on the remote - no help. I then physically pushed in the "ON" button on the receiver - nothing. The only thing I noticed at the time was that both the receiver and the amplifier seemed a bit hot - particularly odd since neither had been on since the evening before and both are well ventilated.
I will look for a fuse as suggested here. Otherwise, where can I get it serviced?
Thanks
I check cables, electricity, and the unit only blink the orange led on the center amp.
Fuse in the amplifier unit? When I power on the amplifier with nothing
else connected, the orange light comes on indicating it has power. When I go to connect the data cable to the
receiver, the light goes out (when functioning properly, it turns blue).
