Unit will not power up, all power cords are hooked up, but no power to unit.

Silly, but needed questions...power cable plugged into a good outlet? Is the power switch on the printer turned on? Do you get any lights at all? There is probably a fuse close to where the power cord goes into the unit. You may need to unscrew portions of the covers to find it...be careful not to break anything....other than that, take it to an authorized dealer.

I need to replace a cord on a GE window air unit...Mo number AEW10AJ...Is there a instruction manual or can you tell me how to re hook up a power cord ( what wire goes where)....
Replacement can be done with any generic cord of the same gauge wires. White wire= neutral, Black wire= hot, green wire = ground (connects to the metal chassis of the unit).Just get the new cord and replace the old one wire at a time.

any appliance store/shop can sell a power cord for your unit. the water hooks up front but you'll need an original water supply line due to the shape and fitting.

Don't know how to switch from 4-prong to 3-prong power supply
Your new 3 prong power cord needs to be wired up just like the 4 prong you just dont have the seperate ground . in the use of a three wire cord ground runs thru neutral .Hook black to black on the terminal block on unit. hook red to red on the other side of block and white to white or green in the middle reinstall the cover ....Plug in and your ready to dry

No power to unit. Used all cord removed and power
Make sure to wait long enough during power disconnection. Unplug the power adapter at both ends (at the console and especially at the power outlet). Give the capacitors at least a minute (perhaps longer) to completely dissipate residual energy. Then, hook it back up and it should be good to go.

If the power light does not come back on, even after wait several minutes. The power adapter will likely need to be replaced. Any electronics shop will be able to test the power adapter first to be sure it is the problem.


I would give credit to someone else for this super simple solution. But, it's all over the internet.

make sure that the unit is not also grounded to the neutral via ground strap or green wire that goes from neutral terminal to the body
