Microwave will not heat food

Unless an expensive unit replacing the Magnatron and or Inverter that powers the unit will cost more than replacing the unit itself.

Microwave not heating

It most likely is either a issue with the inverter (power supply) or the Magnatron (main unit) in this oven.

It could be a thermal fuse inside but the noise sounds more like Inverter or Magnatron.

If not a cheap unit have a shop take a look and get an estimate.

Microwabe is not heating anything

Sounds like the magnatron has failed. This is the component that produces the microwaves that heats the food.

The cost of the magnatron is about 95% of the cost of a microwave oven. Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnatron, they replace the whole oven.

There is a possiblity that the circuit that provides power to the magnatron is faulty and you need to take it apart, find the proper electrical leads and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from its mounting and take it appart. It is a fairly lengthy process however.

My GE spacemaker II microwave won't heat what can I do

Hi,
The main internal component of your microwave oven is called a magnatron. This is the device which generates the microwaves that heat your food up. If your oven appears to be working properly but it's not heating the food, it means the magnatron is not generating microwaves. It could be faulty itself or it could be a component linked to the magnatron. (high voltage capacitor) etc.
Have this component checked by a qualified technician.
Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

My microwave panasonic starts and then switches off automatically in 15 secs, why does it do that?

if your unit has inverter on it then your magnatron or possibly the invertor PCB is faulty, to determine which you will need to replace either the magnatron or the invertor, or both, which is an expensive repair either way, a DIY repair on either part can be dangerous without the correct tools and training to remove. if you feel competent then post back to me, but you will need a supplier for these parts.

Hi,
There is a device in your microwave oven called a magnatron. This device generates the microwaves which heats up the food. If all is working but there is no heat, it means the magnatron is faulty or perhaps part of the magnatron circuitry. Check all fuses and then have the magnatron tested by a qualified technician if all fuses are okay.
Please let me know if this has helped solve your problem.
Best wishes,

Panasonic Microwave Warm

Replace the h.v. capacitor (the silver can mounted in back under the magnatron) and the h.v. diode and it will be fine.

Panasonic Microwave NN-A770S getting hot on right side externally

If you described this to Panasonic very carefully, and they said it's normal, then I would say keep using it until such time that you get other symptoms. The inverter has some parts mounted on a large chunk of aluminum called a heat sink. It draws the heat out of the parts and the heat radiates and/or convects away. This keeps the circuit parts from overheating. As long as you have good air flow through the vents, it sounds okay.
