Red/black wire is the dimmer feed, for stereos that support that option, plain red wire is the switched main power positive (works with ignition on) The other power cable is the plain yellow one, which is energized even with the ignition turned off.

5 pin harness has the following wires on a Realistic radio cassette car player: 1. Red - Power 2. Black - Negative ground 3. Green - ? 4. Yellow - ? 5. White - ?

Hi Marc,
What you have is a "common ground" car stereo which means all speaker negatives will be chassis (earth) ground. The following is a common wiring diagram for vintage aftermarket car stereo.
Constant 12V / Memory Keep Alive - yellow

Accessory - red

Ground - black

Right front speaker(+) - green

Left front speaker(+) - white

Even though I am 99.9% positive this is correct, please use at your own risk as I cannot be responsible if you fry your unit.

Good Luck!

No light on dashboard when i turn the headlights.problem occur after a instalation of a new radio sny

Below is the color code for your factory radio wires.
The problem you have is that the red wire with the black stripe has likely been shorted and the fuse burned. Take the radio out and find that wire. Make sure it is not being used and tape the end with electrical tape. If that wire was used to power the radio, change the radio power to use the yellow wire with the red stripe. Also make sure the red wire isn't getting pinched when you reinstall the radio. Find and replace the burned fuse and you should be OK. Please get back to me if you have more questions.

Radio Constant 12V+ Wire: Blue/White

Stereo Wiring 1984 VW Rabbit

The red wire is power, brown is ground. There also may be a second power wire (possibly yellow) that is switched though the ignition (test this with a light), if you hook it up that way you won't drain your battery by accidentally leaving the stereo on!! The best way to determine what wires go to what speakers is to take each pair and brush the ends across the ends of a "D" cell battery! the corresponding speaker will produce a bit of static! The wires with the stripes are the negative side of each speaker circuit. Hope this helps...;-)
