I just purchased a Guido Bergna Mia coffee maker and it leaks steam no matter how tight I turn the top part. The unit is new out of the box. I just purchased a Guido Bergna Mia coffee maker and it leaks steam no matter how tight I turn the top part. The unit is new out of the box.

I had the same trouble before and probable causes were: too much coffee powder in the funnel? or the coffee beans are ground too much, makes the power clogging in the bottom of the steam tube?

coffee-steam-espresso-and-cappuccino-maker--ecm160-np-/ECM160-NP.html ..... Thecoffee grounds don't come out wet like the other unit. ..... too much as the steam pressure only (no pump) isn't enough to force the water through the "cake".
I HAD the same problem. I fixed it for 50 cents. It takes the removal of 4 screws (2 phillips on top, 2 long standard on bottom by the group) to remove the top to access the steam wand valve. Once the the top (and the chrome bezel) is removed, then screw out the valve counterclockwise buy ALL THE WAY until it comes out. There are 2 O-rings on the stem of the valve that wear out, Cut these off with a sharp knife, go to your local hardware store, buy 2 new ones for 50 cents, install new O-rings, and reverse the disassembly procedure. Voila, no more leaky steam valve!
Hi
What color is the steam manifold? It is located under the black cover with the trough in back under the whit tube. If its whit or black it probably needs to be replaced. If you cool down the manifold after steaming you can prevent this from happening. Just turn off the steam and then open the knob again to run water. It comes out steam at first but then will turn to a water stream. Then you can close the knob and go about brewing or just let it stand.
The steam valve tap rod needs to be replaced, or check machine if it has a plastic steam valve, Gaggia designed a new Stainless steel steam valve for the compact machine.
you can tighten the steam want with a wrench. At the top of the wand just before it enters into the machine you see a "nut" use this to tighten or loosen the wand
