1. Try using the on/off switch that is on the TV itself and use the other buttons on the TV for sound and channel etc.

2. You might need to try a replacement remote.

3. On some remotes you need to press the "TV" button and, then, the power switch on the remote.

I have a 42" LG flatscreen tv. The red light is shining in the bottom right hand corner and I put fresh batteries in the remote but the tv won't switch on. If I press the power button on the...

Hi Vaughan...As long as you have the red light on the front we know your standby voltage is present, if your comfortable doing it remove the back and look for a terminal marked PSON, put your probe on that terminal and turn the TV on, you should see voltage go from 0 volts to about 3.5, if you see this the power board is defective and needs replacing, if there isn't any voltage on that pin then the main board is defective...its one or the other but this is the only way to find out what one is bad, if you don't have test equipment to do this look for a board kit with all the boards in the set or take it in for service but expect to pay 100 plus to get it working again

Harmony 550 remote - buttons not working

Hey!

Unfortunately most things you need to do would require access to the Harmony Remote Software. However, the only advise I would have is for you to remove the batteries and try putting them back in.

Sorry I couldnt be more helpful...

How do you tune Sky+ remote into Sony KDL46W5710 Television

The Sky+ remote should automatically default to Sony TV's. Leave the batteries out for a few minutes and try again. The Code for Sony is 0000.
Or try this :-

With TV and sky box on.
Press the 'TV' button on the remote.
Hold down the 'select' and the 'red' button (of the four coloured buttons) together, until the red light on the remote blinks twice. (takes 2 seconds)
Press the 'TV' button again.
Now enter four zeros, the red light on the remote should blink twice.
Press the 'standby' button (top right).
If the TV turns off, then press 'select' and the light should blink twice again, job done.

If the TV does not turn off then press 'TV' followed by 'standby' again.
Alternate pressing 'TV' 'Standby' until the TV turns off.
When it does, finish by pressing 'Select.
Check the red light on the remote, if it blinks 3 times, then it has run out of options for 0000.

Stuck on Standby, Fujitsu Plasmavision: Model pds4229e-b

I had exactly the same problem with a Fujitsu General PDS4208E. After looking at the forums etc bit the bullet and tracked down an ORIGINAL remote. Paid yesterday, arrived today - batteries in...screen back on!! One proviso here: Before you pay big money for an original remote (and ONLY they will work with these 2nd generation plasma screens not universal remotes) make sure that your screen WAS working before it was in the standby mode. try http://www.portables.co.uk/ on +44 208 968 1444. Ask for Andy. He seemed to know what he was talking about. About £50 +VAT plus next day delivery charge. Alternatively borrow mine at £5 a button press!! ;-))
