Transferring files cannot transfer files to portable device samsung mp3 model yp-k3j

I can't get the software Samsung Media Studio to recognise the Samsung YP-K3J device. We managed to get a few songs loaded inititially but since then it just wont link. The cables are ok as the device is charging.

Please help ... I have one very unhappy 10 year old daughter that thinks Santa gave her a dud!!!!!

Thanks Computerrep .... Media Player just wont recognise the device at all.

Exactly the same problem. First time I used the Samsung K3 I transferred a few tunes via WMP. Didn't even have to install the Samsung disc as I don't really need another Media Player. I just dragged & dropped, no problem. Listened to the MP3 for a bit, then re-connected ti to continue transferring songs. Now my PC doesn't recognise a portable device within 'my computor' 'devices with removable storage'. Since then I've tried installing the original Samsung CD, so I now have their Media Player on my system, but within that it still doesn't recognise the portable device. So now I can't transfer tunes &, although it's connected & says it's charging, my battery is dead. Seems like a lot of folks have this problem, has anyone managed to find a solution yet? Thanks.

I've finally sorted this out after weeks of trying hotfixes & uninstalling & reinstalling software & hardware.. I've just uninstalled Windows Media Player 11 using 'add & remove programmes' which automatically went back to version 10, which is completely compatable with the MP3 player. No need to install the Samsung Media Studio, I can just drag & drop direct from either Windows Media Player or 'my music'. Easy - just as I expected it to be 3 months ago!

How to Add Songs on Samsung YP-U3 MP3 Players

The Samsung YP-U3 is an MP3 player that comes in various colors. This device has a built-in USB plug, so it's not necessary to have a cable to transfer songs from your computer. To transfer songs to your device, you will need to use a PC. If you don't have the Samsung Media Center installation disc, you can download the software from the Samsung website.

Instructions

Install the Samsung Media Center if you have not done so. This is the software used to transfer songs to the YU-P3. The installation disc comes with the device. Simply insert it and follow the on-screen prompts.

Insect the bottom end of your device. You'll see a hidden USB plug on the end. Push it outward to extend it. Plug the device into your computer's USB port. This is usually on the front of the tower. The Samsung Media Center will automatically start after a few seconds.

Locate the file you want to transfer to the device. The Media Center's screen will display the MP3 (and other audio) files currently on your computer. When you find a file you want to add, click on it.

Click on the "Right Arrow" button. This transfers the song to the device. Repeat to transfer more songs, if desired.

Right click on the green USB icon on the right-side of your taskbar. Select "Safely Remove." Unplug your Samsung YP-U3 when prompted.

Hope it helped..

Have a nice day...

FILES WONT TRANSFER!

are you trying to put songs in it? If so, check if the format of the file is either MP3 or WMA. If you are trying to put a file with other formats, (ex: .aac, .m4a etc.) this won't work since the device doen't support a format like those.

Samsung MP3 Model YP-K3J QR

I went back to my Napster account and downloaded the music to a cd. I then downloaded the cd to my Samsung Media player and deleted the locked music. Now everything plays. I also discovered that some of my own CDs had locked when I transferred the music to my new computer so I just reloaded them on my computer and deleted the locked cds.

Thanks for checking.

Unable to Safely Remove YP-K3J

the people that say to ignore the safely remove device - are mistaken.

all i can suggest is go to the manufacture of the computer and make sure all your device drivers are up to date.

and depending on your OS - windows update site or the linux / mac / other repositories to make sure all those are updated as well.
