I have a Lift Off Pet Bagless upright and ever since I **** up a hair tie it hasn't been **** up the dog hair from my carpet. I have gotten the hair tie out of the vacuum but it is still not **** up.
Re: I have a Lift Off Pet Bagless upright and ever since...
One of the reasons it might not be picking up is because you have a worn belt. The other reason could be that the suction channel is clogged. Did you remove the hair tie you ****up? If you need a replacement belt you can get it here:

Like all Dyson upright vacuums, DC41 Animal includes a motor-driven rotating brush bar. This includes stiff nylon bristle tufts which sweep into the carpet pile, agitating out dust, grit and stubborn pet hair. This will also have the effect of raising the carpet pile where it's been trodden down from daily use - this is what causes the tracks you've noticed. You can see how DC41's brush bar and cleaner head are engineered to work in the video I've attached.
It is possible to turn off the brush bar using the silver brush control switch next to the red on/off switch. However, the brush bar is an important factor in effective carpet cleaning and we would always recommend vacuuming carpets with the brush bar turned on - with the exception of delicate carpets or rugs.
It does sound like your machine is working correctly, in the way it was designed. I hope this information is useful to you, but if you would like some further advice, please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).
You might want to check and see if your cyclones are plugged with hair. this can happen and there is a great site to disassemble and clean the cyclone here: http://www.exonotes.com/content/node/4
You've probably got a lesser blockage further down the pipework, which is reducing the airflow. Check everywhere possible for blockages, and also make sure the washable filter is clean and dry.
the brush is always turning on the machine even when your using the tools. try not to set it down on thick carpet , or if you can set it on the linoleum.
