SOURCE: Remote's menu and input buttons, and television Input button not responding

well the problem sounds like it could be the IR sensor on the tv or somthing in that circut that is failing or the EPROM chip that controls : Vol up/down , Channel up/down , Power on/off ,Menu , Input selection , ect... is failing, thus this will trigger the protection circut to shut the tv down. this kind of a problem only gets worse and can dammage other components if not repaired soon so it will need testing to determine the exact cause

SOURCE: my sharp tv model 20H-S60 remote input button is not functioning.

Go to www.remotes.com and they will tell you in most cases how to revive your old remote! or order an orignal (which you may have to do to change the function!) tv remote for your model!

SOURCE: Cannot control TV with remote after DTV change

Cool. It's good that you fixed your problem.
Just in case that it happens again, your TV come with a "RESET" and "SYSTEM RESET" button on the back of the TV. 90% of the time, the SYSTEM RESET button will solve the problem.

SOURCE: I have a sharp Aquos and the input button will not come on black

If you get sound but no picture (black screen), There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Can I force HDMI on a sharp 50LE652E?

Yes, you can force the TV to display HDMI by accessing the input selection menu. Here's how to do it:
  1. Press the "Input" or "Source" button on your Sharp remote control. This should bring up the input selection menu on the screen.
  2. Use the arrow buttons on the remote to select "HDMI" as the input source.
  3. Press "OK" or "Enter" to confirm the selection.
  4. The TV should now display the HDMI input signal from your device.
If this doesn't work, you may need to check the HDMI cable and make sure it's connected properly. If the cable is damaged or faulty, it can cause issues with the HDMI signal.
Regarding the eeprom problem, it's not recommended to modify the TV's firmware or eeprom unless you're a qualified technician. If you suspect that the TV's firmware is causing the issue, you should contact Sharp customer support or a professional repair service for assistance.

I have a Sharp LCD COLOUR TV]MODEL LC-42XD1E I cannot get any channels.

Usually, the Menu options are limited if the current input is not set to the antenna. If you have the original remote, press the Input Source button on the remote (it's to the right of 0 and below 9). Use the up/down arrows to select your desired source. Press OK when this source is highlighted. Unfortunately the LC-42XD1E does not have an input button among the buttons on the top of the rear of the TV. (Similarly the on-screen Menu > Connections > Input Select sub-menu doesn't allow you to change to the TV input.) So if you do not have the original remote, you will need one that has a code (and button) that matches that command. Once you change the source, see if you can find the menu option for Setup or if the DTV menu button works.

The manual for the LC-42XD1E is available from Sharp: https://www.sharp.se/cps/rde/xbcr/documents/documents/om/11_lcd-tv/LC37-42XD1E_OM_GB.pdf . You can see the buttons for the TV shown on page 5 (page 7 of the PDF); the remote control buttons are shown on page 7. Selecting the correct Input is shown on page 10.

I hope this helps.

How to get to menu then adjust it to antena?

First make sure that an antenna is connected the coaxial input on the TV and the input is set to TV. There is an Input button on the top of the TV and on the original remote. On the remote, the Input button is below and slightly to the right of the 0 button. On the top of the TV, the Input button is the one closest to the Power button. You can toggle through the Inputs by pressing the Input button several times or use the up/down arrows and then press the Input button to select the input. (TV should be the top item in the list.)

Next press the Menu button on the remote, above and to the right of the arrow keys. (There is no Menu button on the TV.) Use the left/right arrows to navigate to Setup. Next use the up/down arrows to select CH setup. Press Enter. If you've set a PIN, you'll need to enter it. Use the up/down arrows to select the line Air/Cable, if you need to change the source of your signal. Press Enter. Use the left/right arrows to select your source. Press Enter to save the setting. Press Menu to exit. Return to this CH setup menu and use the up/down arrows to select CH Search and press Enter. If you are using an OTA antenna, use the left/right arrows to select Start and press Enter. Wait for the search to be completed. For cable sources, you'd need to select from Analog Search Start or Digital and Analog Search Start. Press Cancel and then Enter to exit the search.

Crutchfield has the manual for the LC-32D62U available from the product page under the Details tab: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-mhRC3OB2Fi4/p_284LC32D62/Sharp-LC-32D62U.html . The direct link to the manual is http://d2stobyut4u5rx.cloudfront.net/ImageBank/v20080124174400/Manuals/284/284LC32D62.PDF . The Input button use is available on page 30 of the manual. The channel search steps are shown on page 23.

I hope this helps. Please note, if you have an replacement universal remote, you may need to try multiple codes for Sharp TVs to get the Menu button to work. If your replacement remote doesn't have a Menu button or none of the codes work, then you'll need a different remote.

I have a Sharp TV model LC-32SB24U. I cannot access the menu screen because I lost the remote control. Is there another way I can change channels without a remote?

The Sharp LC-32SB24U has menu, input, volume up/down and channel up/down buttons on the top of the TV. When you access the Menu using the buttons on the TV, the Input button is the same as the Enter key. The volume up/down buttons map to the left and right arrows. The channel up/down buttons remain up and down. The Menu button is the closest to the power button (on the right). The volume buttons are the ones on the left.

Make sure that the input is set to TV to change channels. Then you need to program the available channels, access the Menu and navigate to Setup (left/right arrows). Press Input to enter this sub-menu. Then use the Up/Down arrows to select CH Setup. Press Input again to enter. Now you can set the channel source and let the TV scan for channels that have a strong enough OTA signal or are unencrypted cable channels. These are the top two options in the Channel Setup menu. The details are available in the manual which is available here: http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/Sharp_LC37SB24U_LC32SB24U_Manual.pdf . For OTA channels, you may need to check the signal strength under the Antenna Setup - Digital option in this Setup menu. OTA Digital signals will not be tuned in if the signal strength is low. It's an all-or-none tuning; amplifiers and external antennas may help. See tvfool.com for details of transmitters and the recommended antenna for your area. (Warning: damaged amplifiers can become filters and block the signal on some channels. Replace the amplifier if it is damaged.)

If you look to replace your original remote with a universal remote, you'll need one that was programmed more than 6 months after the TV was released. That may be 12/2005 based on the manual copyright date. Look for a remote that has a Menu and Input or Source button and check all of the codes to find one that matches all of the features on your original remote. Amazon has an OEM remote for the LC-32SB24U; remotes.com also has a replacement remote available that has been programmed for the TV. (On remotes.com, search for the LC32SB24U.)

I hope this helps.

Sharp tv 25g s100 power button doesn't work, no original remote

The remote may or may not be the real problem, it is possible on most of these to gain access with back removed directly to the tiny button switch that is in back of the plastic power button on the set and press it with something not sharp (a micro switch is what the button activates) and if set comes on get the remote programmed.

Your best bet if the set will make it on that way is to get the original remote----if in North America with the model number of the set contact either Sharp or Andrews Electronics---usually the original is under 35 dollars and no headaches with programming.

If set does not turn on manually with the micro button you may now have a actual circuit problem in the set.

Yes, you will likely need to change the AV (audio video) input on the TV to RCA
You should be able to do this using the remote control look for a button that says input or AV or using a setting button look for a way to change the audio video input to RCA may even show a pic of red white yellow cable.

Being both a monitor and hdtv it is set up to take different inputs. i use a 26"lcdtv to do the same thing here. a couple questions.... Does the tv have a "PC" input like the one on your computer for the monitor or are you using a dmi or hd cable for the connection.
I know my tv will try to use the HD format on ALL pictures if i connect it to anything but the PC connection. I got around this by installing the monitor correctly in the comuter.
On the remote , you should be able to hit the "format" button to change the bars at top & bottom, these are shown when you are in a mode other than one native to your tv.
