Try a different video-cable.

Try tightening the connections at each end of the cable.

Try connecting the monitor to a different desktop or laptop,
to see if the colours are correct -- it could be the video-card on your computer.

If it is connected through VGA (i.e., not DVI), try checking the cable and connectors. Sometimes they get loose and one of the R, G, or B channels gets lost.

Why do i have a green screen after i turn the screen adjustment screw?

since every display color monitors are only work with 3 primary color which are red, blue and yellow. You could also search it that by mixing these colors, you could get any color your want. Thats how color monitors work. Now in case of green color, it creates by mixing blue and yellow. When you are turning the screen adjustment screw, the red color plug will become lose, makes it appear green.
I hope your got the reason.

Acer 2016W - When powered on, it shows colored lines (blue, green, red, yellow - vertical) and then goes to a blueish-green display color, no deskktop display at all, have tried switching out monitor...

Yep,

When the capacitors start to go out it causes the power supply to not provide the correct voltages. You monitor has the back light power but the 5v power going to the video driver board is not working correctly. Here is a link to a repair guide that will show you how to open the unit, remove the power supply board and what capacitors need to be replaced.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Monitor colors are not displaying correctly

Hi, At the worst it is a blown monitor, but have hope. 1st try a new or known good lead, between monitor and PC. 2nd put monitor with own lead on good PC. if 1st works = result. if 2nd and monitor is same, suspect monitor, however, if 2nd works ok on other PC, then look at ur vid card. Either way, this test sequence should save you some $. Be lucky.

The 3 colors wires that hook into my pc are yellow, red & blue, but the colors on the pc are: pink, white and blue is there a color match up?

I suspect you've got the audio and video cables mixed up.

Video inputs on monitor will be yellow for video and red/blue for audio. PC end of cable will be round and connect to your video card. Or .. you should have a cable with a 15 pin mini D on both ends or a DVB cable.

The pink, white and blue connectors on your pc are audio connections for speakers/headphones.

Colors are off after auto adjust

I seem to have found the solution (and the cause, perhaps?) for this problem!

I was having the EXACT same problem with a monitor I'm repairing for a friend. The capacitors on the power supply board were blown (CapXon capacitors, who'd've guessed), which was keeping it from powering up. After replacing the capacitors, the screen worked beautifully. But it had this weird yellow tint!

The strange part was that pure colors - red, green, blue - all appeared perfectly OK on screen. Curiously, the menus would show in the proper colors, except for one: the manual color adjustment menu, which illustrated "Blue" as a sort of off-green in the icon. Auto-Adjust would always fix the colors for a split second, then go back to yellow. Reset didn't fix it. Color reset didn't either. So, exactly the same problem as above.

The solution I found was hidden within the main menu itself, a sort of "easter egg". Hold the Menu button down while pressing Power, and hold it down until the screen, and menu, appear. There will now be a hidden selection, "Auto Color", printed in a red-on-black font at the bottom of the menu. Use the +/- buttons to access it, and press Menu. Voila! PERFECT COLOR! Perhaps this menu was accessed by accident, and calibrated to an incorrect color key. But now my picture works great, and the setting lasts through Auto-Adjusts and Resets!

Hope this helps some people, it sure saved my ****! ;)
