There are three main reasons photos don't come out clear.
The first is focus. If your photo has something in the near foreground and something in the distant background, you may not get both in focus. This is not as much of a problem with compact point&shoot cameras simply because their field of focus is so deep.
The second cause is subject motion. If you take a photo of a moving object, that object may blur. This is the case if moving objects blur but still objects do not. The third and main cause is camera motion. If you suspect this, try placing the camera on a table or other stable surface, use the self-timer, and take a photo. Compare this photo with one you take holding the camera.

Black fuzzy spot in pictures

Have you verified that it is in the picture and not the screen by transferring the photos to your computer?

You way have some dust or lint that got on the lens if the photos have that problem.

Just take an eyeglass cloth and spray wither eyeglass cleaner, or just a little dab of alcohol and then wipe the lens clean.

When viewing photos it?s striped/fuzzy

Try pressing the up/down on the multiselector. Does that change the view? If so, you've just discovered how to cycle through different views of the image.

If that doesn't do anything, then do the menu and info screens come up correctly, or are they also striped or fuzzy? If so, then the camera may need servicing.

Photos are fuzzy. At the time it takes 52 picts. a round. Would they be sharper if I reduce the picts?

Hello MaryRoth,
Photos are fuzzy due to many reasons and the main two reasons are that the subject is out of focus or the subject or the hand shake during the time of taking the snap.
Please make sure that you select appropriate picture modes (Macro, Portrait, Landscape etc..) when taking snaps. Make sure that when you press the click button half-a-way (known as AE mode), the subject is still in focus.
Try using a Tripod stand in case the hand is not steady or try increasing the shutter speed if its an SLR camera. That should help.

Let me know if that works.

Srinivas

Fuzzy Images

There is insufficient light indoors, so the camera is selecting a slow shutter speed, which is causing camera shake, hence the 'fuzziness'.

Fuzzy, Grainy Pictures

This camera is a perfect one to show the problem with the tiny sensors in the typical point and shoot. From the same sensor size that previously gave 2 or 3 megapixels, Canon now extracts 7.something. In order to do that, they have to turn the gain up so that each pixel actually puts out a signal to be recorded. The natural outcome of that is noise. In this camera, Canon includes heavy noise reduction software that softens the image in order to reduce noise at the various ISO settings above the minimum one, but the result is still a mix of noisy and soft or fuzzy images.

However, the noise should be well controlled at the low end of the ISO settings.

I suspect you have somehow gotten the ISO setting set up higher than the lowest one. Use the four-way controller to access the ISO and set it to the lowest (80) value. This should give you noise free shots.

As an additional suggestion, read the concise review of this camera at Dpreview, the link for which I've provided.

Screen all fuzzy when taking photo.

What you have is a CCD issue. The CCD is the part of the camera that captures the images and stores it to the card. When the CCD goes bad it does some pretty funky things, including blurry, fuzzy or other weird things when they go bad.

Here is a link to an eBay auction with a CCD on it.
