Go to this page and scroll down to where it says multipart. 0 1 2
click on each of them and you will be able to download each part. use a program such as winrar to unzip and join the parts together and you have the service manual for that printer.

Try going to www.precisionroller.com look at any part, fuser or rollers and see what other machines are compatible. Some Dell printers are built by Samsung. Also check www.smpcshop.com for a service manual, usually $19.95 to download.

The precision roller site doesn't have any parts I am looking for.
The service manual site doesn't have one for he Dell 3100cn, though I am not completely sure. I searched for 3100cn and it came up with 2 manuals but they have different letters in front of the model number and there is not way to verify that they are for the printer I have. So I am not going to spend $25 for manuals just ot vieryf that I can't use them.
The suggestions from the first expert didn't apply to my situation.

I am guessing that the incomplete Dell site URL you provided is simply pointing to the owner's manual. I am not looking for an owner's or operating manual. I need a Service Manual or Repair Manual that shows schematics of how to replace internal parts, including directions on how to do it.

The first responder offered a site that has some of these manuals but it didn't have the one I need.
The manuals you suggested provide only general diagnostic instructions. They do not specify how to replace a part, other than a toner cartridge or the Imaging Drum Kit.
After a lengthy dialog with Dell technical support I determined I needed to buy Dell part P4872, which is a Black Developer Housing. I purchased this part from Dell and it has arrived.
Dell informed me that only a Dell technician can install this part, at a minimum cost of $300 for the first 2 hours and $150 for each hour over that.
Since the printer is out of warranty I don't want to spend $300 or more to Dell to install this part, especially since I am not all convinced this will fix my printing problems. So I want to try to install this Developer Housing myself but I can't do that without some kind of schematic or service manual. I understand Dell doesn't sell them but this printer is 4 years old, so I was hoping a 3rd party supplier might somehow be able to provide one.
In an attempt to solve my printing problems I have been through all the usual things, new toner, new drum kit and so on. I have been wrestling with this printing problem for 4 months now and I am about ready to give up and buy a new printer. But I would at least like to try to install this P4872 part I have.
The only thing I am certain about is that I will never buy a Dell printer again, as long as I live.
