If your 2nd DVD burner is on IDE interface, you may need to get an IDE to SATA cable. Please refer to the picture below as to how it looks like:
Hi,
There are usually two types of ports or connectors coming with DVD burners IDE and SATA.
If your DVD burner having IDE port , get an IDE cable and connect the dvd burner to IDE slot of the motherboard mostly there will be two slots available in the mother board.
Or if you have SATA port in your DVD burner get an SATA cable and connect it to your motherboard SATA port.
Good Luck

Likely you have a newer system which as SATA connectors. These are thin cables about 3/4 wide. If so, youll need your 2nd burner to be SATA and not IDE.

First you shutdown your computer, then disconnect all power cords. I don't know if you have a tower or a deskpro, with the tower just slide the panel out pulling from the back, you may have to remove a piece from the front with a tower. Pay attension to how your cd rom is hooked up, I don't know if this is a combo (cd/dvd/RW) if it's a combo, if it is a combo you would have to take out the old drive and replace with the new, just pay attenion to how the old drive is hooked there should be two cords to connect to . If there separate drives there should be an empty bay. Let me know how your doing, and if I can assist you more.........Thanks, Heidi
