Problem garage door opens when neighbor opens there door with remote the neighbor has a Genie garage door opener I have a craftman I have already tried resetting the garage opener by mashing in the reset button located at back of opener for different times 5 seconds 15 seconds and so on this does not work is there a manual way to reset the opener?

It is far better to just buy the one for your garage door opener. Genie Remote is for Genie doors

can you change the toggle switches in the remote and door controller to a different code than it is set on now. Like the two devices must match but hopefully the neighbor code for their door will then be different. Also can you change the frequency ?

Last year, I got a brand new garage door and it kept opening up my neighbor's garage door as well. It turned out that we had the exact same type of garage doors that were happening to work on the same frequency. Lucky for you, though, it's not terribly too tough to change the frequency and make it so that both of your doors aren't opening and closing at the same time. All you have to do is get someone to reprogram the door or find a way to do it yourself. All American Garage Door

check all wired connections, check all wires to insure no nail or staples have nicked them. check troubleshooting section of manual for codes possible circuit board. it is either a liftmaster or genie sold under the craftsman name

you can try to see if it works but probably no- get anather genie remote

Someone in your neighborhood may have the same garage door opener that you have and sharing the same code. Change your garage door opener code or buy a Genie Code Scrambler.

What's the question?

First you want to clear both Garage Door Openers. To clear the openers you need to locate the learn code button. This button is (usually) under the white lens cover just push it and hold it in until the red light stops flashing then do the same thing to your other opener. This clears out all remote controls that are programmed to these openers. Try the remote to make sure the units were properly cleared. Neither opener should activate if this was done correctly. After units are properly cleared push the learn code button on the opener that you want this remote to open. The learn code led will flash, then press the button on the remote once (learn code goes solid), press the remote a second time ( learn code goes out). Press the remote a 3rd time and opener should activate.
