Only prints first 2 pages of any size document. It is USB and prints through an XP Pro SP3 machine. Printer has 32MB of RAM. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Rob

Yep, first thing i did was reinstall the Driver, sorry, should have mentioned that in the inital post :(

There is 21.2GB of free space on the C: drive of the XP machine.

This problem happens for both someone logged on at the XP machine locally and for any user printing through the share.

This is a customer of mine, they didn't want to pay the extra £20 to make this an IP shared machine, so went with USB ... ho hum ;(

Thanks for the quick reply Anantakumarj, I've sent your suggestion (can't believe I didn't think of it ... stupid head me).

They are out till Monday now, I've rated this as Helpful, if it fixes the problem, I'll remark it as Very Helpful :)

    Thanks again :)

I have an e machines computer with windows 7 home premium. It has an AMD Athlon II x2 235 e processor w/2.70 GHz. It has 6.0 GB RAM w/5.75 useable. And a 64-bit operating system. Is my computer powerful...

As this is an older printer, the requirements are very low, a Pentium class 166mhz computer with 32mb of RAM is the minimum requirement.

By manufacturers documentation, this printer is not supported by Windows 7. Its best if used with a Windows XP platform.

Printing but page comes out blank

To allow for full use of the cartridges, some printers continue to print even after the cartridges are completely out of ink. First, check the ink levels. If the ink level indicators show that a cartridge is low or empty, replace the cartridge.
If not, try to restart the printer. Restarting the printer might clear the issues and allow the printer to function correctly again.Press the power button to turn-off the printer then unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, and the USB cable(if connected). Leave unplug for 30 seconds then reconnect the USB cable and the power cord.
If issue persists, try to reboot your computer. Restarting your computer might resolve the issue. If the printer prints all pages correctly, but it adds blank pages to the printout, check for blank pages in the print preview.
If the preview contains no blank pages, check the printer cables. If the printer connects with a USB cable or an Ethernet cable, a faulty connection might cause the issue.
If the issue persists, check the printer settings on the computer. Issues with the printer settings on the computer might cause the issue. Follow these steps to check the computer: Step one: Check the default paper settings. Make sure that the default paper size matches the width and length of the paper loaded in the tray. If the paper loaded in the tray is different from the paper size setting, the printer might print blank pages. For instance, the issue might occur if legal size paper (215 x 355 mm (8.5 x 14 in)) is in the tray, and the paper size setting is letter (215 x 279 mm (8.5 x 11 in)).Follow these steps to check the default paper settings.Click Start then go to Printers and Faxes .Right-click the icon for your printer (c01532298.gif ), and then click Printing Preferences . Under Printing Preferences window click the Features tab. Compare the settings in the Size drop-down menu with the paper in the tray. If the size of the paper in the tray is not the same as the setting in the Size drop-down menu, change the setting:Click the Size drop-down list, and then select More . The Size is window opens.Select the size of the paper that is in the tray, and then click OK .Click OK in the Printing Preferences window, and then click OK in the Properties window. Step two: Print a test page A test page might help determine if the printer installation caused the problem.Click Start , and then click Control Panel .Right-click the Printers and Faxes folder (c01532297.gif ), and then click Open.Right-click the printer icon (c01532298.gif ).Click Properties .In the General tab, click Print Test Page . The printer prints the Windows XP Printer Test Page.If the Windows XP Printer Test Page prints successfully, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If the page is blank, print from an alternate program to determine if the current program is causing the issue.Browse to the location of your saved document, right-click the file, and then click Open With .Select a program other than the program you are currently using to print the document.Open the file in the program, and then check the contents.(Most files open in plain text applications, such as Notepad or WordPad, even if the contents include unusual symbols or text that does not make sense). Try to print the file. If successful, the printer prints exactly what displays in the program window. If the document prints successfully in the alternate program, you do not need to continue troubleshooting. The issue is likely specific to the program you are trying to print from. Consult the program manufacturer for assistance. If the document still prints blank pages in the alternate program, disconnect other devices. Other connected devices, such as scanners, MP3 devices, or other printers might cause conflicts in the communication between the printer and the computer.
If the issue persists, go to this link for the rest of the troubleshooting steps. Go directly to solution nine. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01892627&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3390949&tmp_track_link=ot_search#N46

Hi We have just recently bought secondhand-age

RAM RAM RAM...Thats the key here, Your Printer needs more RAM your PC needs more Ram... As much as you can fit in both. You see a Print job must be spooled, the only place it can, fast enough, is in RAM Memory, so if you have BIG files you need heaps of RAM especially in the printer, thats why it can take 32MB RAM, see? To "Print" a MB of data... you may need up to a triple that of scratch space.
