Most air compressors have a pressure switch on them.this is used to adjust the desired pressure you want to reach.the second adjustment is for setting the pressure for when you want it to cycle back on.lets say you want it to run at 100 PSI.one of your adjustment in this box will control this , when you are using the unit and the pressure starts to drop to lets say 90 PSI you can adjust the unit to cycle

Won't build air pressure & piston rings seem to be ok

Did you inspect lp and hp valves. I would take a close look at the HP valves first,typically bad Lp valves will cause it to build pressure very slowly.

The Madison Local High School marching band sold gift wrap to earn money for a band trip to Orlando,Florida .The gift wrap in solid colors sold for $4.00 per roll ,and the print gift wrap sold for $6.00...

Ah, word problems! The trick is to convert the given information into two equations in two unknowns. Let's let S be the number of solid color rolls sold, and P be the number of print rolls.

The first equation is easy:

(eq. 1): S + P = 480

We're given that information: the total number of rolls sold. For the second equation, use the given price information ($4/roll for the plain, $6/roll for the print).

(eq. 2): 4S + 6P = 2340

Again, we're given the total sales, and we know how much each kind costs.

Now it's just some basic algebra. Let's rearrange equation 1 to get S by itself:

S = 480 - P

Then use that value in equation 2, and solve for P:

4S + 6P =2340
4(480 - P) + 6P = 2340
1920 - 4P + 6P = 2340
2P = 420
P = 210

Now we know that the MLHS band sold 210 rolls of print paper, which means they sold 270 rolls of solid. You can your answers in the original equations. If they are the right values, both equations will work out.

270 + 210 = 480, eq. 1 is right.
(4 x 270) + (6 X 210) = 1080 + 1260 = 2340, eq. 2 checks.

How do I adjust shut off pressure on an Ingersoll Rand T30 2340? Right now it shuts off at 175psi and I would like it around 125. Thanks!!

The best way to go about the task of adjusting the pressure switch is to remove the cover to switch and note the brand/model number. Sometimes instruction are under cover of switch. With switch information, look for mfg. instructions. You will most likely see one or two springs with lock nuts. Do not turn them yet. Most pressure switches are sold with factory adjustment and are sold in pressure ranges. For two stage compressors as yours, the pressure is usually factory set at much higher (150-175) pressures than single stage which is usually about 120 -125. If you change the pressure setting it will also change the differential cut on pressure. The factory will actually use different springs to achieve desired pressures and are color coded. There are too many different brands of switches to recommend how to change pressure setting. You may discover that you can only change the pressure just a small amount (+or -15-20psi ). If you find the information about your switch, make sure that you count the turns exactly so that you can return to factory settings if things go wrong. You can extend the life of the comperssor by lowering the pressure as more amperage /heat is produced to achieve higher pressures. Good luck

T30 model 2340 is leaking air from around the pressure switch when compressor shuts off. This will last for a few minutes and then when compressor starts and stops it will do it all over again

you have a broken valve. follow the small 1/4 line that comes from the pressure switch, and if it goes to the discharge line from the pump to where it enters the tank, there is a large hex fitting that it is hooked into. drain all the pressure off the tank, and remove the fitting from the tank, this should be a check valve and is stuck open.

If the small line goes to an innerstage cooler between the large and small cylinders, then you have a broken valves in the cylinder head that need to be rebuilt.
