PAL is the European format and will only work in PAL DVD players. You need to either get a NTSC (US) formated disc or a PAL formatted DVD player.

the reason the recorder comes up with the message "this disc wont play or record" simply is that the format of the disc is not compatible with the player.

1. check the format of the recorded disc,
2. and check the formats the recorder can play to confirm this.

You only format a CD/RW or a DVD/RW, which are re-writeable.

Regular discs do not need to be formatted (CD-R or DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+R DL, etc.).

To format the DVD/RW idisc, use the "burner" software ( Sonic?, Nero?) and choose [Tools] [Erase Disc] (erase is the same as format)

actually it is due to faulty disk or dirty lens sometimes , when the lens is dirty it keeps on trying to read the data from cd or dvd and it just cant stop that infact stuck in it , or the other reason is faulty loading gear , in either case u have to physically dis assemble the player , remove the top cover some 4 or 6 screws are there in place open the top cover see the cd /or dvd and remove it physically do not force anything hard when removing the media and then if u can see the lens of ur player just clean it with a soft cloth with ur fingers in cicular motions very gently and u will see that it will play dvd /cd fine , the other thing if the loading gear is faulty or broken then u can ask me more on this

Maybe the format of your recorded movie didnt support your player..check out your manual for the supported formats and check the format of your recorded movie.If any of the format in the manual matches your movie format then it will definitely play..

you have to push stop from the title menu, then push setup. Then go to disc edit and finalize is there

Hi i have had a few cd's/DVD's repaired by blockbuster, they charge about 2 to 3 GBP and so far i have had no problems.

this works by removing a layer of plastic from the disc.

if this fails then it my be worth getting your unit serviced as the fans puill in a lot of dust from inside the car..

the message is the file is corrupted and keep asking user to format the DVD (using camcorder)

when usng Elead it just said the file is corrupted and the windows it self also show that the DVD is empty/blank.

i'm using DVD-RW and VR is the recording format.
