This is an error in the position of the paper feed unit.
First, make sure there is no paper jam anywhere in the machine.. look inside, rear, where the paper tray (output) is, etc to see if you find any shreds or torn paper that may have gotten stuck and you didn't see.Look carefully in the zone of Purge unit, using flashlight in the right side on printer.Look in the sheet feeder too. If this not help your printer need service.

PIXMA MP780 All-In-One InkJet Printer: Getting Printer Error 6A00 light on pinter flashin...

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

All I ask is please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Does anyone know how to fix error code #357 with regards to CanonPixma MP780. I cannot get it to print even after changing the ink cartridge...the display keeps flashing "CHECK PRINTER" Please help

Hi
The most common cause of this error, is the purge unit being blocked somehow (small piece of paper, dried up ink, etc.), however, it IS indicated as a paper feed position error, and as such CAN be related to internal mechanical timing on the sheet feeder unit, or positioning of the purge unit in accordance to the positioning of the sheet feeder unit.

My first bet would be to take a flash light, open the top cover, and move the printhead to the far left, checking the purge unit for any visible obstructions or clogging ink

Error 357 the print head appears to be stuck

357 says the sheet feeder is out of sync with the drive assembly, needs to have the encoder wheel checked, and also the drive gears on the side of the feed assembly. Sometimes the plastic studs break leaving the drive gears just floating.

Canon all in one pixma MP 780 problem code ##357

Hi

This is an error message which refers to the position of the paper feed unit,or if the sensors that detect the paper is malfunctioning.

Take out all the papers, fan them a little and also unplug the power cord from the printer
Now,press the power button on the printer and hold it for 15 sec,to perform a power flee.

turn on the printer put,the papers back and check if it works out

it is possible to fix if you have 3 to 4 hours to kill, you have to dissasemble the printer completley and split the main unit inside into two(sheet feed and cassette feeder) they are connected by 4 screws, correct the timing(marks in red) on the gears auto sheet feeder and cassette feeder on both units and and rotate the cam shaft assembly to the start position

takes time but the fix works.
