How can I format the SD card on the PC? I recently loaded the Ver. 1.10 firmware to correct the slow shutter problem that has plagued this Konica Minolta DiImage Xi camera. Now after successfully installing and confirming that it updated? the camera continuously wants to be updated and turned off. If I remove the firmware the camera will not boot up, I think because the SD is not formated. How can I format the SD card on the PC?

The SD cannot be formatted in the camera because it will boot up without a formated SD card.

The SD card must be formatted in the camera, not the computer.

When you were finished updating, did you remember to use the "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom of your computer screen?

My son cleared the sd card for my dimage e323 using my laptop after down loading the pics. When I re-inserted the card in the camera it now says it needs to be formated. I have clicked "yes" and...

Formatting it in the camera is the only way to get it to work. Try it again and be sure the slide switch on the side of the card is in the unlocked position.

Turn on camera and system error screen comes up and you cannot do anything to camera.

1st you need to update the firmware to 1.3u
download firmware here
http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/americas/digital_cameras/dimage-z/dimage-z3/software_drivers/index.html (this allows 2GB cards)
instructions are here
http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/americas/digital_cameras/dimage-z/dimage-z3/software_drivers/firmware/installation_guide.html
(instructions are a little vague on where macro mode button *flower button* is)
Also, you might have a bad SD memory card. format the card (erasing all data/pics on card)
and take some picks and try again.. if you can
If still a system error try a different SD card to get past error then update firmware with THAT SD card.
IF that don't work.... your hosed... ;(

I put the 2 gig memory card in my konica dimage z3 and it says unable to use card. what does it means?

It has something to do with your firmware version, it has to be ver 1.03 or never. There is good help to find at Konica´s website on how to check your own version and how to opdate

Recently purchased an Aiptek IS-DV. It has

Your problem has a very simple fix. The camera which you have is not compatible with SDHC cards. It will only work with regular SD cards.

Your camera is incompatible with the later SDHC specification at the basic hardware level and so cannot format the card which you have purchased.

Note that SD cards are available up to and including 4GB and SDHC start at 4GB so you're not the only person to have made this mistake. In practice there are very few devices designed to use regular SD cards which will work correctly with 4GB SD; Aiptek only designed and tested the IS-DV up to 1GB SD capacity (see page 48 of the user manual), so this is the effective limit to the largest capacity memory card which you can use, if you try larger capacity cards they will either not work at all or will make the camera operations sluggish and you also risk damaging the card itself so that it will no longer correctly format. Aiptek never released any firmware updates to improve the SD compatibility on your camera.

I'm sorry not to be able to offer any way to use your current SDHC card but at least I may have prevented you making another purchasing mistake. Please return the favour by rating my answer.

Unable to use card

Firstly, what size memory hard do you have? Is it an SDHC? Secondly, have you checked that the memory card isn't locked (there is a switch on the side of it). Has it worked with other memory cards?

Z3 will not accept a 2g card

The Dimage Z3 accept SD cards up to 1GB (Minolta says 512 Mb, and sold it with 16Mb). This camera is 4MP , and uses less memory on card, therefore a 512MB card will be enough for it.

SanDisk Flash memory card - 512 MB SD Memory ...

from $13 - 20 stores

PNY Flash memory card - 512 MB SD Memory Card ...

from $3 - 2 stores

SanDisk SD Industrial Flash memory card - 512 ... from $14

Here 1 Gb, try at your risk, but they normally work:

1GB micro SD memory card for Konica Minolta ...

1GB Flash Memory Upgrade Card for Konica ... £3.44 - Memory Express

Trying to give format to a 2GB SD Card in a Konica

try to copy the same format of your 32 MB card. Most likely you deleted the volume label of the 2gb sd card.
