Bernina 1130 intermittent no zig-zag, intermittent stops every few seconds, but restarts immediately after foot is released from foot control, intermittent no needle movement with needle position selector. Everything starts working normally sometimes. Straight stitch always works fine, except for the intermittent stopping and starting.

Cannot keep the needle from zig aging when using zip foot this is bernina 1630. It was working five one day and the next it went to zig zag.

Does it straight stitch with a zig zag foot? Go back into the menu and clear everything then go to straight stitch, then press the little buttons beside the Zig Zag dial to position the needle left or right

What model singer buttonhole attachment will fit a Bernina 807 minimatic machine. This question was asked but I can't find the answer.

Most likely a Singer presser foot will not attach to your Bernina. They are not interchangeable.

You can also probably use something like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOImaKwv4fU
but you need to purchase a snap-on shank adapter for your Bernina, like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/PRESSER-FOOT-SNAP-ON-SHANK-ADAPTER-BERNINA-OLD-STYLE-530-1630-0062617000/282290526069?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40807%26meid%3D4fe9a7b6fca84bb3adef4f466cc8776f%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D401187382421

Or, are you talking about the presser foot? Bernina #033? You can usually find a replacement through eBay, or even purchase a snap-on shank and pick up a snap-on buttonhole foot. But, if you have another zig-zag foot or open-toe presser foot, you can probably get by with using it as long as you can see your marks on the fabric when you stitch.

If you are actually referring to a buttonhole attachment like what is available for new machines, you may be out of luck. Probably not any available for this older model. The automatic buttonhole attachment usually has a sensor that your machine does not accommodate and the buttonhole attachments have a different shank that will not work on the older machines.

However, the buttonhole dial on your machine should work just fine. You just need to do more pre-work, ie measuring the button and marking the buttonholes on the fabric before stitching them. Even if the machine is only a zig-zag, buttonholes can still be done on them. Just be sure to practice a few buttonholes on scrap fabric before trying them on your garment. Get the stitch length so the zig-zag stitch has no gaps between threads but also does not overlap the thread next to it. Also, check that the tension does not cause the fabric to pucker (be sure to use a stabilizer between the fabric to prevent the fabric from stretching or distorting).

Model 930.Why is presser foot not lined up correctly?

Is your needle position centered? The round dial on the top right is a combination zig-zag stitch width selector and the center silver dial selects the needle position. If it is pointed at the #2, then the needle should be centered and something (probably the needle bar) has been knocked out of alignment on your machine (which would probably mean repair service).

Also, if the needle is hitting the presser foot, you probably have a straight stitch foot on your machine which requires the needle be centered. To do any decorative or zig-zag stitching, the presser foot needs to have a wide space for the needle to swing back and forth. The zig-zag foot is marked with a zero.

Can you use twin needles on bernina 1080

I have a Bernina 930 Record that will take twin (even triple) needles, so I don't know why your 1080 wouldn't. Just be sure your machine does not have the straight stitch plate on it, that your presser foot can accommodate zig-zag stitch, and that you carefully adjust any zig-zag stitch width so the needles do not hit the presser foot or stitch plate. I'd suggest installing the double needle and then carefully hand rotate the handwheel to see if the needles will hit anything. If you can make a full rotation of the handwheel without anything hitting, then slowly try it with the motor engaged.

My Bernina 1130 has zig zag problems. I have to turn my machine on for 10 minutes before it will even sew. When I sew straight it will skip a few stitches every inch or so. Now it will not zig zag mo

here are some suggestions
Skipped stitches
1. The needle is not inserted correctly
Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)
2. The needle is damaged
replace with new needle
3. The wrong size needle is being used
Choose a needle to suit the thread & fabric
4. The foot not attached correctly
Check & attach correctly

I really recommend having the sewing machine checked to
see if there is a internal problem, since you have to wait 10 minutes
before sewing & the problem with the zig zag & looping.
