Try performing a "soft reset" by taking a paperclip or an other small object and push the button in a small hole on the bottom of your GPS. The more recent TomTom GPS devices don't have a separate reset button. If your device doesn't have one you have to disconnect your device from a charger of USB-cable and you hav to keep pressing the power button until you hear the TomTom startup sound (drums), then release the button and the device will reboot. No settings get lost by this procedure.
After checking around around the web it seems that you are not the only one to get the green screen of death. My suggestion is to hold reset for several seconds, release reset and hold the power button button for 10 seconds. If this doesn't work the only other option is to let the unit sit for several days to let the internal battery completly drain, once drained theirs a good chance it will function normally, this allows any temporary memory to be cleared.
Good Luck & hope this helps

I am not saying this is your problem, but I have had several TomTom 125's lately that do the same thing. It seems that the ram is faulty and as far as I know there is no fix.
A Factory Restore will fix the password but you need to do a hard reset to get to the restore screen. Press and hold the power button. At the same time, press the reset button on the left side of the device with the stylus (pen). You will see a blue sroll saying Initializing. Press and hold the OK button. Once the scroll is finished, you will get the Safe Mode Screen. From there, press the OK button and follow the instruction until you get to the Restore Screen. From there, you can do a factory restore if you have the original CD or have the factory restore BIN file. Everything is available at www.be300.org
By the way, there are also newer operating environments available for the BE300. They will turn it into an almost fully functional Pocket PC will fully functional Today Screen.
before you start take out sd card. 1 turn tomtom upside down. 2 see reset button? 3 use paper clip to press (press for 15secs) 4 now turn on tomtom (hold power button for approx 5secs. 5 re insert sd card. after a few minutes you should have signal. hope this solves your problem.
Try the reset button on the hole in the bottom of the unit. I had a frozen unit after attempting to upgrade and this made it work. Use a paperclip to press into the hole, it will reset the unit.
