Cant i run a stand alone self test on my deskjet

Jeep XJ it is.
the Cluster is a computer. brain,
a stand alone display.
fuse 16 in PDC (cluster memory fuse)
and fuse 9 in JB . runs it. JB is cab fuse box.

so what works in the cluster, all things, but not speed or tacho.
engine runs ok
scan tool show no DTC errors.?
all warning lights in cluster work? at self test key?????

if the PCM can not comm, to the cluster, the cluster
can not show tach or speed, can't , and cant update odometer either
does the odometer roll moving>? i bet not

the cluster is a stand alone unit, with puter brain (processor)
fuel guage work?

if the scan tool shows U codes or C codes and comm errors
that must be addressed first. (cause)
see?
you cant fix cars, with out a $5 scan tool, cant. why not buy one
and use it?

Hi if you lose any of your hp install disks you can google you product "HP deskjet 3740" usually the first hit on google is the right one, after clicking the link you need to choose which OS you are running (xp,vista,7, linux or apple). you are then redirected to the appropriate downloads page.

The DeskJet 3740 software is compatible with Window XP, Me, 2000 pro, 98SE or 98. You might be able to download updated drivers at the windows 7 website.

Well there is no separate drivers or Applications available to download for vista, even on HP supportsite.
They say that the drivers come by default within the OS or Click on Windows Update while you are adding the printer it should download the driver.

If you just need the printer functionality alone you can do this...
If you have tried installing any applications or drivers from the disk at first get rid off them completely from the system through Programs and Features in Control Panel while doing this unplug the printer.

Also delete the printer from Control Panel - Printers.
Dont plug the printer back in yet..
Now Click on Add Printer in Control Panel Printers.
Choose Local then existing port type as USB now on install printer screen choose your Printer if its not available there under HP or Helwart Packard click windows update and check again you will get it....

once the installation is completed, then connect the printer and check it should work..

You have to go www.hp.com select your region and product then you have to choose OS and now you can printer's driver for free for life.
Your problem will solve.

I have lost the driver CD for my printer HP deskjet 3740.

i want hp3745 driver

I would probably want to try a new/different parallel interface cable. If that doesn't work, I would strongly recommend purchasing a new printer. The DeskJet 600-series models are Jurassic Park stuff.
