I have an Acer Aspire 3000 laptop.
My DVD/CD player has run out of region changes, so I can only play region 1.
Is it possible to override this so I can play other region DVD's.

If you want to play DVD from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software that allows you to play DVDs from any region. There are several available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free

Yes, it is possible. There are two methods: hardware and software.
I will only help you with the software type as it is easy and the changes can be reversed.
For software hacking there are many tools available. However, I enlist here two of the most popular and easy.

If the above tools are not helpful, it means that your drive has been locked permanently. It can be reversed by a firmware change. Be advised that this is not an easy process and it can render your device unusable if performed incorrectly.

but shopping varies by country, as you will learn customs inspectors in many countries block entry for them being illegall(sic) in your country. for sure USA>
they block mostly real stores importing in MASS
