Question about GPS
The time is about 21 minutes off on the Magellan. Can't find anyplace to change the time. If it is controlled by the Satellite how can it be off 21 minutes. We have it set for central time zone
My Megellan Roadmate had the same problem the time was way off and the date read 8/06/2009 instead of 06/17/2009. I tried everything the previous posting mentioned to no avail. I called Magellan tech support and they talked me thru it. (1) Turn the unit on outside ( not in a building ) (2) Hold down on the power button for 20sec. then let go. (3) Turn the unit on and go to the map. (4) Touch the upper rt. corner were the bars are, the screen will change and say tracking X (#) of sattilites. wait untill the bars for the sattiligts all change to green now you can go back to the main menu and the time should be correct.

Hey never posted here before but I found a solution under another question on here. Mine was off 7 minutes and it was really annoying me. All I had to do to fix it was go under user options then system settings, then time zone. Now you have to change your time zone to something else, I had it set to Eastern so I set it to Central and hit save. It then returns you to the previous menu, now go back into time zone and set it back to the proper zone and save again. Check the time under "Current Location" (the tow truck on mine) and voila! Seems kinda dumb that this fixes it but I guess it forces the system to recheck the satellite time.

I have found a solution. my magellan maestro 4000 was 3 min off and I could not find a solution inside the system settings, I even tried the time zone change and it did not work. I found a reset button on the side of it near the power button. I saved all my info to a memory card just in case and turned the power on and pushed the button. Like magic, it reset itself and the time is now correct. Also I never had to use the info on my memory card cause the reset did not delete the information on my magellan.
