You are trying to set up the wireless router with the comcast modem, right ?
You can set up the router manually , without the disc.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online when connected to the comcast modem only.
If you have the router working already then you just need to add a computer to the network.

I cannot find my wpa or wpn on my wireless netgear 824 v2

You shouldnt be able to find the WPA or WPN you would have set this when you first installed and setup your wireless netgear router. Your supposed to write it down before the installation completes I had one. There should be a saved file that Netgear saved during installation that states your password and other info.

Unable to install Netgear wireless router

This does not seem to be a problem with your router, rather with the network adapter in your laptop.
  1. Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Network adapters.
  2. Click the "+" sign to make it "-".
  3. What is listed? DO you see your wireless network adapter? If you see a yellow "!" or a red "x", that means it is not properly installed. Try to reinstall the driver.
If you need help with that, let me know. In that case I would need to know make and model of your computer.

Also: you don't have to install any software to connect to your router. This software is simply a help to setup the router. You can always type "www.routerlogin.com" in the address bar of your web browser and manage your router from there.

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Trying to hookup a wireless router to HP 1100

DSL uses PPOE, which may be different than what you had previously. Cable, for example, uses TCP/IP.
Re-set the router to defaults, and follow the instructions for PPOE, which should be in your manual or setup disk. Your ISP may have this info on their site, or you can get it at the Netgear site:

Drivers for Netgear WPN 824 V2

First I would reset the Router to Factor Default

Press the reset button on the back until the test light blinks. This takes about 10 seconds. (To avoid accidental resets, the small button is recessed. Use a pen or paperclip to access it.)

Release the button.

Wait for the router to reboot.

Set your computer IP address to 192.168.1.3

connect your computer to the router, open a webpage and enter 192.168.1.1 you should get the username and password screen

Default username: admin    password: password

or could be 1234 but should be the first.
