Remote doesn't control. batteries are good, but there is no apparent connection between the remote and the TV. It is in use with a Comcast turner-DVR, which works fine, but I have to turn on and adjust the TV volume manually.

All cable company's have a remote that can also control your TV. Flip your cable remote over and find the part number on it. On rare occasions, it might be inside the battery department instead of the back. Type that part number into your internet browser with the words guide or manual and you should find the manual u need to program your TV into your cable remote. If all else fails, call your cable provider.

It is possible that this remote will not program to your Comcast dvr. Your DVR is probably newer than the remote and has new codes that the remote doesn't support. The only thing you can do now, is either purchase a new universal remote that supports both units. or use your Comcast remote to program it to your TV. the Comcast remotes are programmable.

GOOGLE THE MODEL NUMBER OF THE SET (IF ORIGINAL REMOTE) WITH "manual" which would get the owner manual to do this.

To reset the remote control, just take out the battery from the remote control, and reinsert it after an hour or so. The remote control will reset itself.

I called Comcast about this today and they had me turn off the TV, unplug the DVR, unplug the coaxle cable, wait a second, rescrew in the coaxle cable, replug in the DVR. It worked! The DVR is snappy like it used to be. Such a relief because it was soooo annoying. Good luck.

Not every remote will control every TV. You basically have 3 options. 1) Call Comcast and see if they have additional codes not listed on their website/documentation 2) Call Magnavox and see if they have additional codes that might work with your remote. 3) Buy a 3rd party remote that works with both your comcast box and your television.

the codes for Sharp LCD's are 10093 and 11602...follow the normal programming instructions but use these codes....newer remote manuals may have these codes but however the one i had didn't...hope this helps

The answer depends whether its a Comcast DVR Remote or a regular one. The DVR codes are 4 digit -- the others are 5 digit. I got 0060 to work for my DVR remote.
